Quality holder swap in NY / holder alignment and bad sharpenings?

Recommended Posts

Two part question here:  First, this may be a longshot, but im looking to know if anyone knows where to get quality work done for swapping holders in NY.  I know of West Side Skate, but im on long island and i'd rather not have to go into the city if i dont have to.  I've had good work done at Wheelin Willys before, but they are expensive and the worker there rubs me the wrong way sometimes.  I was recently at Pure Hockey in Carle Place and they do swaps there, but im hesitant to hand over expensive skates without knowing the quality of work they do.  Has anyone ever had work done there?

Second, I recently swapped out Cobra's for a pair of Tuuk Plus on my Graf 707's and skated on them for the first time yesterday.  They just felt off to me.  The blade would kind of swivel a little bit when skating in a straight line.  It wasnt anything over dramatic, but when i threw my G7's back on with the original Cobra it just gave me that "ahhh" feeling and a sense of comfort back.  But it had nothing to do with the pitch.  I actually liked the new balance point of the Tuuks, but i couldnt tell if they were mounted incorrectly or if it was from a bad sharpening.  I marked the points where the Cobra blade lined up and lined up the Tuuk based off those marks (toe and heel) to a T.  So, im not sure how i could have screwed up the alignment.  Would that sound more like a bad sharpening or misalignment?
