Easton Stealth CX shoulder pads

Recommended Posts

They are discontinued, but I found a new one on sidelineswap. My previous shoulder pads are Easton S13 (which is a step under S19 at the time), so the CX has to be better, right?

Well, I got them and haven't worn them on the ice yet.

Pluses: It's noticeably lighter than my S13 shoulder pads, and any other shoulder pads from the past. More dense padding in the shoulder caps. More stiffer padding over the clavicle area and over the trapezius. Bicep coverage is nice, similar to S13.

Minuses: There's an HDPE (high-density polyethylene) piece in the sternum and one over the back. There's no padding under it and I can flex it with my fingers. Seems like less protection than the S13, which has a much more dense piece of padding over the sternum. The medium-density padding around the sides of the sternum piece and spine piece is this foamy stuff, no padding under fabric. Not sure if it is better, but it is thinner and lighter.
