Hollow: 90/75

Skates: Easton Mako II with Edge Holders and Step Black Steel Runners

I’ve been skating since I was about 4 or 5 and I started playing hockey when I was 7. I began to play competitively at 12 and did a lot of traveling for AAA. I recently got double hip surgery and was finally cleared to skate again last month. Before surgery I wasn’t a very powerful skater in my strides or pushes but I was fast when I had the opportunity to gain speed. My quick starts were, well, not quick at all and I lacked agility.

Mobility- 4

Stability- 4

Speed- 5

Acceleration- 5

After skating on the triple radius profile, I felt that mobility was much better than the dual radius. I could access all my edges very well and could perform difficult drills easily. I would rate mobility on this profile as a 4/5. Stability was the most improved from the dual radius. On the triple radius, I felt comfortable getting deep into a good skating position to access my edges. When doing drills such as, inside edge elbow down in the ice, the blade carved into the ice allowing me to stay on my feet instead of falling. It never gave out during any other movement drills like the dual radius did.  I would rate stability a 4/5 on the triple radius profile. Speed on the triple radius was faster than ever before. Getting across the length of the ice at an increased speed took less strides than usual so I kept more energy. I would rate speed on the triple radius as a 5/5. Lastly acceleration was very good. Each push from every stride I could hear my blade carve into the ice with power. I would rate acceleration as a 5/5.
