koivulchuk 1 Report post Posted January 17, 2005 For all those with a bunch of music, etc on their computer, what program do you use to manage it? I'm looking for a Free program that can edit tags & create directories based on the tag info. And something that can automatically edit the tag from the album info (musicmatch is the only thing i've found that's able to do this, but it's not free & it uses too much of my computer...)There is a program called the Godfather that is supposed to be able to do this (i think), but i can't really figure out how to use it...or make it do what i want...if anyone's an expert on this crap, i'd greatly appreciate the help... ;)
Chadd 916 Report post Posted January 17, 2005 I just spent a couple of hours and put mine into directories based on the artist. Someday I'll get around to ripping the rest of my CD collection and at that point I may need to find a better way.
ambro 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 I don't know half of the stuff you said in the first post (such as editing tags, creating directories, etc.), but I use iTunes on my computer, and a free Music Match version when I want to compress songs down to 128 kbps to save space on my mp3 player. ambro 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 I think iTunes can do both of them then.
BruinsFanRI 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2005 If you're creating the MP3s off of a CD, Winamp will save them in directories by Artist & Album. You can actually customize exactly how you want the directory structure to be in the program options. They had a free version that would do this before. Unfortunately now you have to pay for the full version to rip MP3s. It's only $15 though.I don't think it will help you if you already have a ton of MP3s that you want to organize.I found these after a quick google search. Maybe one of these will do the trick...http://www.webattack.com/get/mp3sort.htmlhttp://www.mediamonkey.com/download.htm
