Installing CCM XS Tongues on an older model

Recommended Posts

Has anyone successfully done this and it so, any tips for removing the old tongue and lining up the holes on the toe cap before drilling? For context - I have a pair of FT2s lying around and I’d like to install the slim XS tongue to get a bit more volume out of them. Thanks guys.

Yes, I've done it. It's quite easy. Cut out the old tongue with a razor.  Fit the XS tongue to the toe cap and measure, then mark, measure and check again, then drill.

Awesome! Do you mind adding a picture of what the toe cap and material behind it looks like without the XS tongue attached? I’m curious what I’m going to run into once I remove the FT2 tongue.

I would, but I dont have those anymore. However, I have a pair of FT2 that I am doing for a friend this weekend so I will document the process.
