Modo->Sakic

Recommended Posts

I play competitive ball hockey on smooth cement and we use rock hard plastic balls. I have been using a Modo curve for this season and I do like it however it wears a little too much at the toe, so I assume 5.5 would be a better fit and one thing is that I have problems raising my slappers, in warm up I usally put it into the goalies chest and in games all my shots are low like stick side and pads, I dont view this as a problem however I would like to be able to snipe the top corners, when I shoot with the modo I have a high high follow through but its still not lifting as much. I was just wondeirng if this is a big switch from modo to sakic, I have heard good things about both and since sakic is a moderate as opposed to slight this will give me more curve and possibly raise it more and I also like the fact that its curved more towards the toe then a heel curve which means a better toe drag. On breakways I usally finish by putting the ball in with the classic one side then put it in backhand on the other side I was wondering will a sakic have a horrible backhand control because its more curved on front hand so will it be horrible or just a little worse then the modo on the backhand?

Thanks

i normally use a sakic curve... very easy to pick corners and toe drags with this curve... recently i tried a stick out with a modo curve... there's definitely a difference, i experience most the problems you faced.. ie low shots.... go with the sakic curve, i think it'll help ya.... and about the backhand, with practice, you'll be able to get good control of it
