Shaving down a blade

Recommended Posts

I was givin an old aluminum shaft from a friend. Only problem is its a Junior and I have no Junior blades, but I do have this old Z-Carbon that I have been using for outdoor so I decided to try and shave it down to fit in the shaft. I have been sanding the blade with a file for an hour now and have gotten almost nowhere. What do you guys do to shave the balde down?

dremel power action and a bench grinder. it takes a long time with these as well; if we're talking composite blades. especially if you want it straight and even. even then, durability is an issue, but it doesn't sound like you're concerned too much if you're using an old blade.
