L-2 weight

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I bought a L-2 pro stock on ebay...and a L-2 blade(thanks chadd for the tips about the hull ! :P )anywayz...here the deal:i do have a R2XN10 with a synthesis sicore..and now a L-2 with a L-2 blade...

My r2 xn10 feel pretty well balanced(dont have a major problem) but my L-2 feel really MORE heavier(and i feel it when stickhandling at the bottom)

Do anybody else felt this when holding a L-2(in store or if you have one)??Because the shaft feel to be pretty light(maybe like the Vapor XV) but the problem it at the bottom so i'm wondering if it not the blade...Anybody notice this??(that the L-2 blade is heavier than any other tapered blade??)

Thanks...

The L-2 is just a little heavier than my Inno, but not quite as heavy as the Synthesis Si-Core I briefly used. The L-2 combo won't feel as light as the R2Xn10/Synthesis Si-Core combo mostly because the R2Xn10 is so light.

so,the problem is not my blade??so if i do change the blade...it will not change anything about the weight...??

okay but it still weird...because when i was holding the shaft itselft it didn't feel pretty heavier(and by number the shaft weight 280(maybe i'm wrong) and the xn10 is 265(so that only 15 gram difference!)

I've got an L-2 blade in my synergy shaft and it's been the best short hosel blade I've ever used. It feels just as well balanced as all the other blades I've had, and it feels better with the puck. I've had the Bauer wood 6500 I think it is, a few synthesis', R2 composite and wood, then a few standard blades shaved down.

yea i got no problem with the feel of the blade( i paid this blade 55CND) and my sicore synthesis(130CND) and the feel is the same...if not better...then the problem is the shaft...but it weird because it feel heavier at the bottom where the blade is...anywayz i gonna use it at back-up and when my R2XN10 will broke than i will stick with the L-2

But it sad...because i paid 100CND(shipped) and it has soft grip on it and the shaft shape is a bit difference than the retail!

Anywayz,Thanks for the info guys!

I never had a problem with the weight of the L-2 when I first started, it may have been a bit blade heavy but nothing I could gripe about. I just baught my first regular synthesis blade in and it feels much more balanced and way lighter than before. I love the synthesis but the durability may be a factor. As stated before, if your using an XN10 R2 nothing will compare to weight with the L-2 shaft at 300g and the XN10 R2 at 265g.

So your saying...you played with the L-2(shaft and blade) and found it a bit blade heavy(like i did)...and then you put a synthesis blade in the L-2 and it feel much more balanced??

If that...i just gonna return the blade and pay 20$CND more for a synthesis...

My other option is put my synthesis in my L-2 and my L-2 blade in my r2xn10 to see if it the shaft or the blade the problem...

I have identical blades in my l2 and R2xn10 shafts. the balance point is 1.5 inches lower on the Mission meaning it should feel slightly more blade heavy. The only way to change this is to put a lighter blade in the L2 than you have in the R2.

by the way...is there a real difference in TAPERED BLADES(since their all the same length and are all carbon/graphite/kevlar)

i mean...wasn't the L-2 blade light??Do any body know what would be the difference with a synthesis and a L-2 blade...??(syns are 145...inno are 155 gram(but a longer hosel...)as for the other i did not make a real reseach about it.

FINAL QUESTION...chadd what are the identical blade are you using??(christian tapered)

it always fell from side to side!

It's okay if it wobbles a bit. Just as long as it stays on your finger without you having to move your finger around.

small question here...if the r2 got a 1,5 inch higher balance point(with a blade)does this mean the shaft is lighter or it just the blade of the L-2 who heavier and make the balance lower??

sorry for the dumb question lol just wanna make sure!

Weight doesn't directly translate into balance. I'd prefer a slightly heavy shaft if it was well balanced over a lighter and poorly balanced shaft.

okay that good guys...what i will do is put my Synthesis sicore blade in my L-2 and try...if it feel better...i will return my L-2 blade and give 20$CND more for a synthesis...

You can't balance it on a finger? How is that possible?

there is always one point on a stick and it does not wobble at all i have done it once before.

You should check your own grammar before you criticize someone else's English.
