Deadly

painful vector

Recommended Posts

hi, I bought a pair of CCM Vector 6.5's a couple of months ago and for the first few weeks they were perfect, very comfortable. but in the last week ive started to get a really bad pain on my right foot just above my outside ankle where a part of the skate must rub against it or something im not quite sure. my left foot is fine its just the right one, its about after 30 mins of skatin it starts to get unbearable and it starts to swell abit. ne suggestions you could give me would be helpful thx

Does the point of ankle pain align with top of the seam that separates the ankle pad from the boot lining? With the seamed in ankle pad design, there is occasionally a stiff ridge or material protrusion right where the pad is seamed to the boot lining. I've noticed this ridge on Mission Proto VSI, Mission S500, CCM Vector while skating in really sheer socks. Going back to a regular sock eliminated the hot spot for me. I never felt this when skating in my Pro-Tacks that don't have a seamed ankle pad.

I have the same prob on the left with my Mission skates. It's not like a rub or blister but feels like a bruise.

It hurts like crazy at first but gets better after I skate awhile.

Let me guess, Vector 6.5's are an "internet" model, sold only by internet sites. If they weren't you could simply go back to the LHS where you bought them for "comfort" adjustments.

I have the same problem with my Vector PF8's for roller. I have to wear longer socks otherwise it hurts like hell. If you don't wear socks, buy a longer pair and just cut the bottoms off so it just covers the area where it hurts.
