What is the difference in an Open or Closed curve???

Also is it better to have a blade short or longer and do most wood blades short or long???

Personal preference for the lenght of the blade.

EDIT: Do you mean Tapered(Short hosel) or Standard(long hosel) or you are talking about the lenght of the blade.

if you look at a curve that is listed as open it twists at the end a little open with some loft. Kinda like if you open up a golf club to hit a flop or fade. It is supposed to help get the puck up quicker. I really don't like open curves, but I know a lot of people who do.

Modano is not as open as a Drury, bit it is still open.

Im doing the custom blade thing and it says selcet your hosel dimensions then it says size standard or tapered and then it says lenght short or long what does that mean short or long???
