Eagle X46 and X50 gloves

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I am looking at getting a pair of either the EagleX46 or X50 gloves. Does anyone have experience on these particular models? And what's the difference between the two? from looking at pics they seem very very similar apart from the labels. I heard that Eagle gloves are notorious for their palm durability (they tend to wear out fast).

I've got X46's got them at the hockey shop (surrey, Canada) for $70 cdn + taxes. Probably the best pair of gloves I've owned to date. Last 2 pairs were Hespeller's + CCM 352 (in proglo). Durability so far after 4 skates is fine, however I took a nasty slapper off the hand and my index finger is swelling up pretty badly. I got hit in an awkward way. For the price I paid for these gloves their worth it as the other cheap stuff isn't much cheaper. It was a toss up between these and the Vapor X glove that retailed for $90 cdn.

I've got the X51, which is the X50 with a longer cuff. I love these gloves, I switched from Easton Air's and my hand is so comfortable and free in the glove. It isn't a tight fitting glove like bauer. The palms have NO sign of wear and I've had them since October. The whole glove is amazing, I picked them up on discount hockey for $70 USD plus shipping.

I had a pair of X50s two years ago and they were still held up great until the day that I just decided it was time for a change. Id honestly take them over the older X70 with the white holographic thing on the cuff.

They're decent gloves and generally much less expensive than other Eagles. We had a few pair of the X46 and they were fairly popular.

How would they compare to lets say - Bauer Supreme 2000 gloves?

All depends on what you like. I don't like one piece fingers and I can usually get a pair of gloves with inserts for the same price as Eagles. I should probably start saying more good things about Eagles, I have 40+ pair coming.

X46 was not made by Eagle, but, outsourced. The materials may be the same, however, the feel is completely different.
