spacers for my new bearings/wheels?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm relatively new to the forum and have a quick question. I have a pair of CCM Externos with micro bearings. The original wheels and bearings are pretty much done with (I was naive and didn't take good care of them). I read in a few posts that there was no huge advantage to the micro bearings, so I just bought some BSB Titanium-non-micro bearings and Rink Rat Worldcup wheels as I find myself playing more outdoor hockey than anticipated! I was wondering if I will have any problems with this set up on my micro-bearing ccm externos? Do I need some spacers or something? The wheels just came today, but i'm still waiting on the bearings. Thanks in advance for any help,

Matt

you should get floating spacers. They don't have a part that goes thru the bearing middle, the sandwich between the bearings.

you probably will be getting a set of spacers with your new bearings.... most bearing packages come with spacers suited for them

Well, I got my bearings today, and they didn't come with any spacers. The micro spacers don't work because they're too narrow, so I went to some crappy skateboarer/surfer shop and found some nylon spacers that seem to fit alright. I was wondering if I'm compromising any performance with these nylon spacers, and should I order some better ones online? Thanks,

Matt
