dddatsyuk--48 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Ok you guys. I have never heard of this happening to anyone except extremely impressive players like Sidney Crosby and Pro players. Here's the story. My friend Joe was telling me the other day that a guy at my rink got free sticks from his sponsors. Joe was positive it was from sponsors because the guy got sticks with shrink wraps and everything. Joe also told me that some AA players he knew also recieved free sticks because they were good enough to be sponsored. How does this work? Is this true, that not only pro players can be sponsored? Is it even possible to get free sticks? I thought even pro players didnt get "free sticks" because they had a contract that involved money. If all this "free stick" stuff is true, then how do you get it? Hey with the prices of sticks getting outrageous I want some "free sticks" too.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Company reps, or even shop owners, will give the better players in an area free stuff in an effort to have the guys who look up to them start buying the same products.

sherwood21 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 A guy that I know gets free Harrow sticks. He was the highest scorer in Bantam AAA last year, and was a very high WHL pick (37th, I believe). The only thing that holds him back is his size, 5'7-5'8 ish. He has world class speed, like he would be a top skater in the dub this year. He also played Jr. A this year (as an 89) and averaged over 1.5 points a game. Wow, that was the biggest plug ever..lol.
