Pine tar

Is it safe to use on a composite shaft and also, will it ruin the palms of my gloves?

i would not advise pine tar... see what it does to the boston red sox helmets.

i would recommend using the sticky side of cloth tape to add grip to a comp shaft... in a lot of the pro, college, junior locker rooms they have a piece of a stick with tape wrapped around backwards exposing the sticky side, and they rub that up and down that stick to add grip.
