How do I repair a tear in skate tendon guard?

Hi guys,

It seems as though a rip/tear is developing on the inside part of the tendon guard, so essentially the same liner as the inside of the boot. Anyone have any patch/sewing fixes that are simple and cheap?

Nash has what appears to be a plastic piece that appears to rivet/bolt on to the back of the boot to restore rigidity to broken tendon guards.
