  1. totally lackluster effort on the part of the B's last night. Plus they may have lost Bergy in the process for some time. The best thing that can happen righ tnow is bringing Satan in to make some competition out there for playing time. IMO some guys could use to sit for a game or 2.

  2. It's a shame too because he won't deserve it.

He's not a good coach and he's not using his talent to the best of their abilities. Like Andy Murray, he's coaching to avoid losing more then he's trying to win.

He's been living off his phantoms legacy for a long time and that will only get you so far. He's at the end of the line. My personal opinion is that someone will get shipped out before he's fired. That is if he really has the vote of confidence Homer said he does.

One thing I've noticed is that there seems to be a divide in the dressing room.

  3. The way things are looking, the losses of Axelsson and Yelle are definitely hurting the B's. The penalty killing has been horrible and their defensive coverage has been spotty, at best.

Who'd have thought "gumby" was that essential? I think the Begin/Yelle thing is a wash. Time will tell though.

  4. God damn insomnia. I got up at 8am Monday, and here it is 3am Tuesday and I'm wide awake.

I'll also be heading to the hospital tomorrow. If my suspicion is right it's another round of kidney stone(s) for me. If not something is wrong, god damn nuts feel like they're 10 pounds each and I've got a knife going from my right lower back toward my junk. Just like February, that turned out to be very wonderful. Here's the story from last time.

Sounds about right. That's what mine felt like.

  5. Tough loss last night. They looked real good for most of that first period and then seemed to play flat the rest of the night. The Caps were flying & were much better last night.

I expect a really good effort Saturday.

I wouldn't say it was a tough loss. The B's were outplayed in almost every facet of that game, except for Bergy's shorty. They need a room fogger full of 5 hour energy. I have to give the Caps props they were very disciplined and tight defensively and buzzing all night.

Bergy looks like he's back in form. Krejci looks pretty good for coming back from surgery. Hunwick and Stuart played "I don't want it, you take it" with the puck all night. If I had a dollar for every time they went backward towards their own net I'd be rich. It looke like the playoffs vs Carolina out there.

As upset as I was with the B's game....I was stoked for fantasy as I had Ovie, Semin, and Laich starting last night.

  6. Everything I'm reading suggests Kessel will be traded this week. I'd rather see him remain on the team, but with the economic realities of a salary cap, receiving two firsts and second sounds good. Supposedly, that's what Toronto has offered.

Kessel has been traded for exactly that. Cap reality bites.

Chicago will find out next off season.

Do you really have to start rubbing it in already? Can't I have just one more your to enjoy the Hawks not sucking before things start going down hill?

    misery loves company :P

  8. Absolutely. If we are going to put the general classifications of music in the 80's as Metal, Hard Rock, & Rock (which I agree with) then I agree with you. The "hair bands" seemed to be a bit more concerned with appealing to the masses. The metal bands seemed to have the music as their top focus.

+1 for that observation. I always though of hair bands as "heavy pop/hard rock" during their time. I get my fill every now and then on the ipod, but I've certainly mellowed with age.

  9. I've run into so many customers at Lightning/Red Wings games, they'd be like "You're the dude from the pro shop! You sold me a pair of skates and they are the best I've ever had."

I run into a lot of my customers as well...wether it's at West Edmonton Mall or at Rexall Place, I do see a lot a familiar faces. Most don't recognize me though, as I always wear a hat away from the store. Hehe

Well I stick out like a sore thumb at hockey games anyway so it doesn't take much.

    Must be the haircut ;)

Everytime I read this thread it makes me visit my local shop.
