  1. Lost my partner of 6 1/2 years a week ago today. She was only 44. Life just sucks sometimes.

I'm sorry to hear that. Life truly does suck sometimes.

I was at a mass today for my dad's best friend who was like family to us. He was 44 when he passed away from cancer.

My prayers go out to her parents as well, it's an awful thing to outlive one of your children

  2. I stayed at the one with the casino (not the time shares) last March, nice place.

Best place to catch hockey, if you care, if Busters Garage. It's down in the buildings next to the Hard Rock, on the far end. If you have time, hit Wacky Wahoos for dinner. It's my favorite restaurant on the island and maybe 1/4 mile inland from Busters. Just past that, next to the Valero, is Linda's Pancakes and Pizza. Dutch pancakes are like crepes, great for breakfast or a light lunch. Fishes n More is another place we try to hit, food is good and service is usually excellent. It's a small place, next to Casa Tua and Salt and Pepper, just before you get to the Hard Rock on the main street. Casa Tua has great pizza by the way. Also a big fan of Dushi bagels and burgers for a quick lunch, it's across the street from Texas de Brazil and Sbarro.

There's some great snorkeling about a mile up the road towards the lighthouse. Go early enough and you can see/swim with turtles. Once the boats get up there, forget about it. The natural bridge is a bit of a tourist trap, but the scenery on that side of the island is nice, very rugged. Get out and explore the island, the locals are pretty nice and it's not hard to get around if you can read a map at all. If the waves aren't bad sign up for one of the snorkeling trips to the Antilla, it's starting to collapse but you don't often see such a large shipwreck in relatively shallow waters.

thanks, I'll def try to get to some of the places you mentioned. We snagged one of the time shares even though we don't own a time share so we've been cooking alot

I went snorkeling yesterday and saw the Antilla. Great time minus the cheap rum

  3. Hurt my foot running last week. From what I'm reading online, it sounds like a stress fracture (haven't been able to see a doctor yet). I'm supposed to be going to Boston to play a hockey tournament at the end of April, so sounds like good luck has struck!

you can still make a stop at tsr

  4. Got a bank pre-approval letter and an offer accepted on my dream house! Out of this podunk town and off to someplace awesome to live finally! Hopefully, I will be able to live out my remaining years at the new place and never have to move again! Yay! Oh yeah, and there's already a workbench for my sharpener, racks to hang the jerseys, shelves for all the gloves, and room for all the rest... whoohoo!!

    staying in western ma?

  5. dumb question but when Warrior offers Narrow and Standard gloves, is that regarding the gusset size? I just don't want to buy the wrong ones

no, volume inside of the glove is the difference. You won't find gussets as big as sturms on any retail glove

  6. I noticed the fingers in my Sturm Reeboks are pretty long. Same thing with you guys?

Yeah. I notice the tall guessets more when wearing them though

Does your pair have silver shield lining? Mine don't. Assuming it's just Warrior's standard black lining that Sturm requested for whatever reason.

    Yup. Fingers are definitely long.

yeah I have the silver shield

  7. Here's a few more shots of the Sturm Franchises I picked up last week, new PPF's off Ebay, and a family shot.

    Clipped Thumb

Huge Gussets (At least not what I'm used to)

Green PPF's (Not my ideal color, but got them for a great price)

    Family Shot

    Thanks, guys!

Those sturm gloves are made the same as mine sturm winter classics. Big gussets indeed!!

  8. Yes, that's right. I was eager to get them and as soon as they showed up I was contacted to advise the blue stripes were done in the dark navy color incorrectly. They've reordered them and hopefully it won't take long to get them at this late in the season. They (PSHG) could not guarantee that Warrior Canada would do the thumb in blue though... but that's not a huge issue for me. I'd only wanted the correct stripe colors to be corrected for me to accept them. When you get on the customiser and add it up the deal through PSHG is very good all in all.

    No doubt.

I'll probably order a pair when they get them

  9. PSHG's customer service has been very good from my dealings with them. I've bought gloves and pants from them and every time had a fairly quick answer to any question I had. Also as one not wanting to commit to over $300 for custom Franchise gloves right now (may still pull the trigger at some point though...) I did take a good look at their "stock custom" Creepers. I ordered a pair of them and they came in to PSHG last week. PSHG notified me immediately that the colorway wasn't correct... not sure if they didn't get the order filled out correctly or if it was a mistake when constructing them but there were stripes not done in the correct color. I was asked to look at pics of them and make a choice of yes or no. I opted to decline and they then immediately reordered them with the right stripe color. I asked about making a change to the thumb color at that time... they said they were unsure if Warrior Canada would do that or not but would try to get it for me. Either way it's not a huge deal for me as the main glove color and stripes will be what I wanted, and I'll get the palms and mesh gussets too which I want to try out at a very reasonable price. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll be able to post up pics of the new gloves.

Steve, I assume your talking about the tbl ones because they aren't on the site.

Are they going to order the correct ones?

  10. Well, other than the color (red, instead of black) on the back of the hand and the printing that says dri-fit and vapor xxxx pro on the inside on the retail ones, there doesn't appear (or feel) to me to be any difference in the material used on the TSR ones that you're calling pro-stock. It's dry-fit on the TSR ones too. Read the eBay listing you posted.

So I think that when it comes to TSR vapor XXXX gloves vs. Retail pro xxxx gloves, it comes down to the color, unless you've got a different palm or gussets. I think if you had several examples of each glove in front of you (like I do) you'd probably agree with me.

Those are samsonov's so I don't know why your calling them tsr vapor xxxx's............

Even though the liner's are called the same thing, the one on pro gloves is different. It feels thicker

    I do as well.

Not saying there's a huge difference

  11. I can only do so much on an iPad....

As far as the retail xxxx pros and the pro stock ones coming from tsr, I own both and other than the color variations, am not sure there's much of a difference. I have pro stock ones that are exactly the same as the retail pros. I also have ones that have Nash gussets instead of the elastic. But other than that, I'm not sure it's worth quibbling over.

    dif liner

  12. It seemed clear to me that I was backing you up. You told him what he doesn't have. I told him what he does have. Jeeze.

If you quoted his post it would have been clear. You quoted mine so I was a bit confused. My bad

  13. they aren't retail ;)

Did some digging. Actually they are. You can tell by the nike bauer logo on the cuff. Carolina Pro stocks wouldn't have black behind the bauer wording on the cuff, it would be red like on these gloves

    http://cgi.ebay.com/PRO-STOCK-VAPOR-XXXX-HOCKEY-GLOVES-SAMSONOV-14_W0QQitemZ160423325641QQcategoryZ20853QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D8010708330796910211

there was two different retail xxxx gloves, one leather with the weird palm and the other the "pro" which is nylon. Your gloves are the retail "pro"

  14. My friend scored tickets to Mac Miller on May 2nd in NY. Gonna be a tough wait

Nice. Be prepared to see everyone in a snapback lol

I love mac miller his new mixtape is awesome. Is he performing by himself or is he still touring with Wiz Khalifa?

It's on and off. I was at the Wiz concert at UMASS in November(Had to leave before anyone went on because people can't handle their booze  ) and saw Mac right before Christmas in Boston. Then they performed together in Atlantic City a few days after Christmas. Saw Mac again at UMASS a few weeks ago and both him and Wiz will perform together at UMASS Lowell and UNH in the spring.

Doesn't help that neither of them don't have an offical tour dates list that's accurate

    edit

    just found this

    http://irockcollege.com/profiles/blogs/wiz-khalifa-amp-mac-miller

Seems at the end of the month they will be done with their own tours and go on tour together

  15. My right shoulder is a mess. I'm thinking it's Rotator Cuff. Not sure when I hurt it, but it clicks and pops a LOT when I rotate it...and it's weak when I have any weight or resistance on it. Even holding my arm out and turning my palms to face upward hurts. Ball and Summer hockey both start soon. My GF asked me yesterday when I was going to go to a Dr. I said I wasn't. I fear that any treatment will screw me for the summer.

I know it's childish and stupid.

    FML!

    /end vent.

It's not..............rotators cuffs are a b**** to repair. My uncle had to have one arm done twice and the other still needs to be done. It's a tough recovery IMO
