Is being hooked up to a shop vac good enough for a basement? I have heard the dust is pretty toxic from the wheels.

What type of environment does everyone use their X-01 or X-02 in? Basement, garage? Vented? Thanks

I have never tried ther FBV but I get it done on my sons skates, 90/75. He is nine years old and weighs in at about a whopping 68lbs. Should he be on something different then the 90/75? Thanks,

I am looking at getting one of these three, X-01, X-02 or the classic portable because it is the same price basically as the X-02. This will depend on what you guys with experience have to say. What makes the X-02 better than the X-01? Is the classic portable better than the X-02. I am looking for the one that will in the end be the easiest to use. Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

Thanks Solar Wind. I think what I will do is actually try the FBV for myself as I have not. As for cost it is the cheapest sharpen i have found. $4.00. I have to travel a little to get there buit it is usually a stoop on my way home from work. i am planning on getting my own portable sharpener this fall but have yet to decide on what to get. Skatepal or Blackstone(FBV) I like the idea of the Skatepal only because it says it will give you the same sharpen everytime. Still undecided.

I have been using the flat bottom v on my sons new skates this past season. He is 9 and a good skater but about after the 3rd or 4th time of use after a sharpen I notice him starting to fall alot. did not really notice this with the conventional sharpen. Sorry did not read through all the pages to see if anyone else had this problem I think am going to buy a propal sharpener for next season so he has sharp skates for every game and practice.

I just picked up a pair of youth X:60 for my son, any comments from others who have them for kids would be nice. I did not want to spend as much as I did but I got him to try on every other brand out there and in the end he said those felt the best. As far as I know he did not know the differance in price.
