  3. it is smarter to buy straight from the manufacturer. the LHS(retailor) has to put a markup on it to make money. Yes, but by them selling them direct, it's not like they are charging the customer what the shops would pay for it. They get their profit as well as the markup. But we won't go through that again... that and if there bought direct theres a chance that the shipping price may be alot also 'cause i doubt shipping is included in the price
  4. just not right what there doing thats all.but yeah MIA is awesome for there customizer
  5. well the price they have on the computer isnt a price when buying them from a retailer though so its abit misleading
  6. its not really sweet because for retailers who actually bring there customers to the back of the store to customize there gloves they ask why should I pay 240 cad gloves when I can buy them off here for 200Cad. But i got a pair of MIA's coming in a week or so. there gunna look sharp
  7. well when your sharpen it tip of the toe to the end of the heel it rounds the blade out meaning it makes your blade look like bannana. some places do a few passes like that then sharpen the main area of the blade then final pass toe heel.
  8. what do you mean by front and back. do you mean going front and then coming back like going both ways?
  9. really, weve had a few go down quite alot but there t-blade models. to add to the thread had a goalie guy try to explain to me the proper way to sharpen his skates, keeping the same pitch on them and everything. but there is one thing i dont mind customers doing bringin in there hot g.fs/wives or kids running amuck when there moms a MILF but still theres only so much
  10. I hate that. I don't know how many times I've been tempted to just cut the damn laces. especially when the laces are all brown coloured i dont wanan touch those. or when there wet from just playing and they dont have the courtesy to wipe them down
  11. i hate that when ppl thnk they should get a deal cause there getting more than one item. but now what i can say is which true i had some guy drop 10K and didnt even ask for a deal because we gave him great service.
  12. So if I was wearing a 7.0D flexlite, what size One90 would I fit into mst likely? youd still be a size 7d maybe C
  13. they have that flexlite style fit but id wait for the C width ones for sure though
  14. yeah thats very true but it happens more if the sales guy feels somewhat of a connection between him and the customer. too add to the list had this guy come in last night with a canadian tire ccm HT1 helmet looking to put a cage on it and none would fit properly because of the width of the helmet, anyways the helmet was way too big for the kid and i told the parents this helmet is way too big for him and he would need a smaller helmet. the parents response too this was well hes a growing boy and your head doesnt grow much at all, it grows ever so slightly in a year which caused them too laugh. thats real annoying because your telling them the truth and there not believing something your saying. like whens the last time a kid came in for a new helmet on a yearly basis
  15. youve got quite alot of girth, the 8090 would work well for you but id reccoment the D width cause your heels dont look too to wide and any type of pressure can be taken away with stretching and heating.
  16. It's possible the guy has frequented a store in the past in which leaving them at the counter was the routine. At my main rink, there's padding on the counter to the right of the register. Everyone knows to leave their skates there, especially if no one is around, since he's most likely in the back sharpening. I suppose people would hold onto their skates if they needed a different service. yeah but at a hockey store in a plaza come on you gotta show the employees some sort of respect. not just ignore them cause your on your cell phone. i know i make it a note not too answer my cell phone when im in a store looking for stuff and im asking for peoples advice like getting a phone or computer just isnt polite.but if the person wants to not show respect then why should the person not show the same. granted there are customers who i know who just come in for sharpenings but for the ones that I dont know im not sure what they want, they need to tell me
  17. Just had this happen to me right now,guy came in blabbering on his cell with his skates in hand and he just dropped them off at the counter without telling me anything at all and just started walking around. i left them there because i didnt know what he wanted done so i wasnt going to touch them. he comes back and asks if his skates are done and i told him politely im not sure what you wanted done too them. thats a real annoying thing that and or a guy asking for a deal on a pair of shin pads when he pays by an amex that has no limit on it.
  18. this isnt at work but more out of work. i was at a local watering hole with some friends sitting enjoying some drinks and chatting having a merry old time when this guy just leans in and starts yelling at me pretty much about how his kids gloves werent repalmed when im not the guy doing the repair. i really wanted to tell him off but couldnt cause then he probably wouldnt come to our store. i hate the fact that you have to be nice to customers even when your not working. as for the comment about cutting sticks bought elsewhere i try and charge people a couple bucks to cut there sticks down if there not bought at our shop.I also kinda find it funny when people come in with skates 10+yrs old and there skates are coming apart and there upset cause there skate isnt made anymore
  19. 1. i gotta say when they tell you what there coach says they should be doing and there coach is some guy who played select hockey growing up. 2. taking a roll of black tape and with a 200CAD stick shooting it against the wall marking the wall and the floor possibly 3. saying they found the exact same thing cheaper online.if you did then why bother coming into the store 4.saying they know the owner bob when the owners name isnt bob 5. those damn wheelie shoes when kids are wheeling around and they fall the parents get mad cause they fell.well if there kids werent lazy slobs who couldnt bear to walk 5 feet to the skate wall it wouldnt of happened. thats just too list a few

  21. actually the tongue isnt as protective on the vector so i have seen alot of people using a bunga pad on the vector
  22. vectors wont last as long where the tacks will last longer because theres no break between the plastic on the pro tack where the vector will break down right between those two silver pieces because theres nothing there but that material
  23. yeah giving everyone the same profile makes no sense, only way it makes sense is if he does it as a starting ground and then works from it
  24. Not as many as your dad's shop, but I don't have the space for all of the crap he wanted me to buy. Not to mention the stuff I have is much nicer than his pile of crap. i misread what u put chadd i edited it right after i posted. i agree that id be a waste to get the table machine and exhaust and all that $hit, a 3 head machine is all you need. we have 2-3 head machines just cause the amount we do but id say you just need a 3 head machine and a shop vac or even the blademaster exhaust thats inside
