been a while since i've posted here. I love my mako skates. Still the best skates i've ever owned. i haven't checked on how the brand is doing or what's up for the next model. if anyone wants to give me a quick update that'd be great.

Yes, the Mako I experience was horrible for me. After I got the new Mako II's first thing i did was send my steel into Noicing for a profile. I kept the pitch the same. It was amazing. The pitch of the skate isn't the problem really, i love it. It was when i went to get them profiled and sharpened by someone that never saw the skate (and probably wasn't good to begin with) they killed them, especially the toe. It was a nightmare. All good now though. Love these skates, holder, steel, pitch and all.

anyone know if easton will offer replacement mako 2 footbeds?
-
I've been skating on my Mako 2s now for almost 2 weeks. I can say that it is a nice improvement over the originals. The color makes them automatically better lol. Also, it is definitely stiffer than the original makos. It's not that much stiffer but it's a nice upgrade. I also like the liner inside. Plus, the no mako bumps are huge for me. I got my steel profiled at a 13ft radius recently but i think a 9ft radius would serve me better. Not sure yet though. My buddy got the same pair as me (going on my recommendation) but now the poor bastard got relocated to south america. Anyone interested in this skate in 8D check out the sell section! i put it up for sale.

so they are being sold? Any articles on this? Whose buying ?Ahhh what's going to happen to the makos ?!

I know the rule of thumb is to wait 24 hours after baking to skate on new skates but realistically could I bake the skates in the morning, put them in the freezer for a bit and then skate on them that night? I won't be getting my new makos till Monday morning and I have a game that night. Is it really a bad idea ?
-
When are those coming out?
-
So you're saying no ankle lock issues? That was a problem with my first makos. Also, can you tell if it's stiffer ?
-
It's crazy that I'm seeing more and more people switch out tuuks for cxns Who woulda thought
-
yah they line up fine
-
Are they stiffer ?
-
Has this been confirmed? Is it really stiffer?

If you're not playing in a major season (seeing as we are approaching summer) id try getting used to the pitch. Get them profiled by someone you trust I went through such hell with my makos last year adjusting pitch, adding in tuuks, etc. when my mako ll comes in I'm getting my profile done by noicing and that's it.
-
Well, find someone. You're about to drop close to a grand on skates I'd reckon it would be best to be as accurate as possible.
-
You should have someone do this for you
-
Send your blade in to jimmy and get the pitch done for your vapors. By time the mako 2 comes out you'll know if you like the pitch or not
-
They have a 3degree pitch from neutral, so from 0. Most bauer skates come with 9' radius. LS3 steel comes with 10' radius. Yes, the difference is the pitch and it is a significant one. Skate profile prices depend on location but usually hover around $15-$25. Noicing ( a reputable mail in service) can have your skates back to you for around $31 with a profile, sharpening. I would try stock first, yes. Try getting you steel pitched forward 3 degrees, it will make you lean over the toes of your skates. It's a bit harder on your knees since it forces you to bend your knees at all times. On turns it does feel like you are pushing off your heels more, yes. But that's just from my experience.

I wish we could see more pics of the Mako 2's. Shouldn't they start marketing them soon?
-
I've done it. I'm still undecided whether or not it was truly a good idea. I did it because at the time my blades got so screwed up (trying to fix the aggressive pitch) and there weren't any replacement ES4 blades out. Truthfully, if i had to do it again i'd prob keep the CXN and get a new pair of steel from noicing with some of the pitch dialed back.
-
where the pics?
-
Yes i understand all that but the poster made it seem like it is months and months away.
-
Really? That's sounds a bit ridiculous. If the mako 2s aren't gearing up for release in the next 2 months why wouldn't they stock the originals ? That's bad business.

Anyone have a list of all the guys in the nhl rocking these?
-
and that was me. I switched to a tuuk holder. i still would like a +1 degree pitch though. need to try and get that done.
