  1. That would be awesome! Thanks kind sir! I would really like to get the eyelet backing on.
  2. Icehouse were no help when I asked a while back, maybe it was just who I spoke to. Despite some gripes some of us have, I wouldn't let it stop anyone from buying a pair. Simply the best fitting pair of skates I've had, and I've had lots! Performance is brilliant as well, So easy to use outside edges in these skates! When the time eventually comes to get new skates, I will for sure be getting another custom pair of VH.
  3. I posted before, their communication isn't the best. I have a missing back to an eyelet (arrived like that) and they gave me the wrong tongues. But They did send me the correct tongues and spare eyelet backings, but no one over here has the correct die.. skates are brilliant regardless and won't wear anything else.
  4. I have a set of the thick felt Enhanced metatarsal guard tongue and a set of the thick felt regular tongue. I honestly like the regular tongue way more and only use them.
  5. This is what I mean by "their commnication isn't the best". I've read several times where people didn't receieve what was requested. I asked questions in emails that went unanswered, even when I repeated it in a few different emails. BUT, as I stated.... I love the skates and won't wear anything else now.
  6. I wouldn't be happy with those..... send them back for sure. Honestly, I LOVE my VH and won't wear any other skate fron now on, BUT.... their communication isn't the best...
  7. Wasn't there a photo of those on VH's twitter?
  8. This is how mine sit. Even know everything is fine, I think with my next pair I could go down a size with the holders. http://imgur.com/yC669FB.jpg http://imgur.com/7zA8PTu.jpg
  9. My feet are the same and getting VH has been the best choice I've ever made with skates! I don't see myself using any other skate from now on!
  10. The gap is fine on mine and the holder sits flush
  11. One thing I can complain about is that the eyelet placing is a bit sloppy on mine.
  12. Did you rebake the skates or was it fine just chucking them in?
  13. My laces have been going loose and sloppy within 10 to 15, even with the great wrap, the skate feels too sloppy once this happens. I had to lift the eyelet cuff a bit, like mc88 suggested, as the tongues weren't sitting flush and I was getting brutal numbness in my toes and the balls of my feet.
  14. I've used their wax laces before, but will give the unwaxed a try. I have to have the top eyelet left a bit loose or else the skate rips my leg up.
  15. Think I have to change the laces out as the ones that come with skates seem to come loose very quick.
  16. I have super high arches and I'm using the VH footbed minus the red insole and have no issues. I told Rob in advance I have super high arches and need arch support. When I was fitted, we made sure to have a ruler in the photo for the arch area, as well as for any issue areas. We sent in several photos of my feet.
  17. I've never seen anyone lace up like that. Reason/benefits in doing so? For sure! Really love them now! Will get another pair in the future!
  18. I had to heat that area to get my feet in, it was tearing my skin up.I as well had to heat and lift the eyelet cuff near the toecap so the tongue would sit flat and stop the bad numbness I was getting.
  19. My shooting has been off for some reason since I've been wearing these
  20. This worked like a charm! Skated in them again today and finally got to see how great these skates really are! Was able to skate in them hardly laced up and using outside edges in them is so good! Tight turns, backwards crossovers, etc... feel amazing in these!! I still had slight pins and needles in my left pinky toe,but not enough to matter!
  21. Thanks for the info. I'll try that if need be!
  22. Finally skated in them. I think I might need to bake again, will give them another skate tomorrow and then decide. Took me a while to get used to them and was all off balance when I first got out on the ice, I really felt like I was on my heels. I started to get used to them the last half hour, but my feet kept getting a bit numb and I wish the ankle was a little bit stiffer. Next skate I'm going to use the stock footbed, I used the CCM high arch support insoles, but will see the difference with the stock.3/8 sharpen felt fine, no different than when I had them on prior skates.
  23. I'm one of those with weird feet too, and lucky VH got these issues spot on for me!
  24. I got lucky as friends of mine over here are the VH fitters for Australia! Was going to wait when I was back home in the US for a visit and take a trip to get the photos, tracings, etc.... done as I wasn't up for doing them myself.
  25. Good idea that you got the Cobra holder, will help for sure. That's why I had the CCM SB +4.0 holder put on mine, it's been my favorite holder out of all the ones I've used and what I've used for a while now. My left foot is smaller than my right, and you can see it for sure now with the VH. Odd having my left foot brush the toecap for once, which is awesome. My right foot ,near my big toe, sticks out a lot, which always caused fit issues.... But not with VH! Feels so awesome!! Hopefully you'll like yours when you get them!
