In the new CCM Catalog they are starting to list Boot "Stiffness" ratings for Tacks, Jetspeed, Ribcore. I know it is subjective from brand to brand but I see this as kind of pointless unless there is a comparison against previous models and other brands. Anyone ever come across a list or anything similar that would compare CCM, current vs older models or CCM vs Bauer vs True? I have no idea if my old skates are stiffer or not by comparison or what the benefit or setback would be from a particular rating.

Apologies if this has been discussed, I did do a search and did not see anything. With the major manufacturers pushing scanned image sizing and skate recommendations, is anyone actually going with the "Pro Spec" sizing recommendations, including the pros? I have been scanned by two different manufacturers and both recommended a skate a full size and a half smaller then I have been using and models that I felt I could barley get my foot into. I am sure baking would help but seems it would still be cramped and would require being punched out to be able to wear them for more than a few minutes. I do have a wide foot. So I guess the question is are people using these recommendations and how much a difference would it make? I don't have heel lock issues in the current size, although my toes barely touch the end of the toe cap.
