VH Footwear/TRUE by Scott Van Horne
Reddevilpara replied to dsjunior1388's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Yeah, Bauer and CCM have been doing it for years, I've been in them since they started doing it. I was in Jet Speeds last season. Nothing I've ever skated in has fit like the True/VH. Nothing has been as responsive. I'm not knocking Bauer or CCM they make a great product, but my experience with the True/VH is I have something that fits everywhere and I have a better range of motion than I have ever had. I'm old enough to have stated in Black Panthers, then 92s, 96s, 100, 1000's 2000's, 5000's, 7000's Vapor 8's etc etc etc and again, my experience is I have never had a better skate. I worked for The Phoenix Coyotes and was able to get Pro Stock and they didn't match this skate. But as I said everyone will have a different take/experience. The best skate is the one that is the best for you. -

After being in these a week I have come to realize no other skate I've ever had actually fit properly. It's an amazing skate. I can't say enough good things about it! -

They're so damn comfortable and this is no lie.............a guy in our League claims he slept in his when he got them! We have 14 guys here in our League in Qatar in them and we all say the same thing. I even went back to flopping my tongues which I haven't done in ages. All these years I thought I had a good fit in whatever I was skating in but in reality I didn't. A lot to be said for the 3D scan. -

Played a game in mine last night. What an awesome skate! Took me about half the first period to get used to them. Amazing how stable they feel. I'm happy with the Step Holder and Steel. The skate goes exactly where you foot goes. In all my years of Hockey I've never had a skate remotely close. I'm pretty happy! -

Mine arrived here today. Ordered on 7 November and made it all the way to Doha, Qatar today. I've had my eyes on VH for a couple years now but didn't know how I'd get a pair since I work in Qatar and live in Thailand. I didn't trust the "tracing" method, but I guess it was meant to be. One of our Goalies in the League here is good friends with True's Pro Rep Jorg. He came out in early November to fit us. 13 guys bit and ordered. Most of the skates arrived this week. 4 guys have skated in them and were really happy. They echoed what everyone said, they fit great but feel different but in a good way. I'm really impressed with the build quality for what is pretty much a hand made product. Can't wait to bake them tomorrow, and skate in them in Tuesdays game. And as everyone has said, there is no way you'll get your foot in these things without baking them! -
Thanks, it's pretty sharp old school look. The socks are brand new from eBay but they are 35 years old!

Just took the plunge after being on Bauers since I was a kid. True's Pro Rep came over here to Qatar and did the fitting being a good friend of his is one of our goalies. Pretty excited about getting them, had my eye on them for awhile but since I was not going to be in Civilization anytime soon I never thought it would happen. 13 of us in the League over here will soon be sporting new wheels. -
Awesome Shots!

New Pics from the current season here in Qatar

Yep, spent too much money getting my teeth fixed this year, even though it was done in Thailand, still cost some money and I'm over the stitches and broken teeth thing. I came from the MX3s to the Jet Speeds and it's the best thing I've done skate wise. Last time I was in a CCM was 1982, been a die hard Bauer guy except for 99-2000 when I wore Mission Flyweights. The Jetspeeds have the best heel lock I have ever experienced. The MX3s are a great skate but were a little too stiff. No matter what I do I can't get the heel to lift in the Jet Speeds. Only thing I'd like to see them add would be an MX3 type lacing system, other than that, they are fantastic. I think CCM is back skate wise.

Some shots from last night's game vs. The Qatari National Team

If I don't have a Ramones Shirt on then it's a Clash or Joy Division T shirt. Not hard to figure out my musical taste. It's a sad world we live in, The Ramones are dead yet Justin Bieber and Kanye West are allowed to suck up oxygen. Ice was great, better than we thought it would be, much better. Zamboni Driver had a little issue, took him 25 minutes to resurface between the 2nd and 3rd. He's still learning!

This is where we played the Qatari National Team Last Night. New Al Sadd Arena in Doha. Kids are fast, have good skills but they still are not understanding you can't skate faster than the puck is passed. We came away with a 6-4 win, 6-0 going into the 3rd. This facility is first class all the way. We get to skate against the Qataris every Sunday in August. Never thought I'd see something like this here. It's a rink you get to early just so you can take it all in.

A pic from last Friday's Championship. We managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Played a team that went 22-3, most goals scored. We held them to 10 shots, back checked like madmen. They couldn't do anything. 2 minutes left we get called for a interference penalty. A minute left they pull the goalie. 6 on 4. With 10 seconds left we had a Defenseman tripped moving the puck out, it's more than obvious. This guy is a former Major Junior A player who just doesn't fall down. Call isn't made, puck is picked up low in our zone and wham-o, they tie it. And we lose in sudden death OT. Third straight trip to the finals, no wins. Well I didn't win "Best Dressed" at our year end Dhow Cruise. I did get "Top Forward".

Always awesome pics! Is she wearing Jet Speeds? I just ordered a pair, haven't skated CCM since 1981 so want to give them a try again. Your Pics are always great and she looks like she more than holds her own out there. We have a 5 foot tall Swedish Girl who played NCAA Women's Division I playing over here in Qatar and is quite a hockey player.

Interestingly enough we actually have an award for "best dressed". Same guy has won it 3 years in a row but I have a chance to unseat him. Apparently when I put a gold lace in my RBZ pants it propelled me to the top!

Well, I'm going see what I can find!

Thanks, lightest weight gloves I've ever had!

Thanks, tired to buy some Warrior Pro Stock Purple Kings Pants, but Pro Stock Hockey doesn't ship USPS!

My new Dustin Brown Pro Stock gloves made their debut in yesterday's game. One point. Of course it had nothing to do with me skating with my head down..........it was Dustin's fault URL=http://s1072.photobucket.com/user/Paul_Warriner/media/received_10204982089706510_zpskcgdtgnt.jpeg.html][/URL]
