I was rear ended in a car accident last week and I had to miss my hockey game on Wednesday because my back was super stiff.

In my case it's been a rough run.... pulled adductor led to hernia and torn groin. Had hernia surgery and rehabbing the groin and close to coming back last week when I started to get severe headaches and then woke up with double vision. Went to the ER and spent the day in the hospital getting CT scan and MRI. Thankfully the ruled out stroke, aneurysm and brain tumor. Yesterday I was diagnosed with 3rd nerve palsy. That nerve controls muscles in my left eye. They say it should resolve in about 3 months but it's very disorienting and I still have some residual headaches. My team is leaving for Montreal next week Nd I plan The whole thing and now I can't play. WF is three weeks later and there little to no chance I can skate at that. Two season on two teams playing a total of 3 games at a cost of over 1200 bucks. Driving is hard.... I'm really out of sorts and this really sucks. Oh, and I have to wear a patch or glasses with a fogged lenses to avoid seeing double. FML
That sucks! Hope it resolves itself much sooner. But looking on the bright side, if you wear an eye patch you can totally get away with acting like a pirate.

42 minutes ago, Holmes_D_83 said:So. Here goes. Back in March I was rushed to the ER (I'm Northern Irish, we usually call it casualty or Accident and Emergency) with sepsis. I spent 3 days in intensive care and a further 2 on a ward. I had a minor heart attack too whilst I was there. I don't recall much of it. I lost a lot of weight, dropping from 230lbs to 160 in the weeks after. My mental health took a battering too, to the point I attempted to overdose 3 times. I lost my job because I was unable to work, developed scar tissue in my left lung where the infection had been, and I ended up on welfare. No matter what I tried I could not gain weight and was pounding back pints of water every day. I tried to get back to hockey but my gear was hanging on me like a badly dressed mannequin and my energy levels were at an all time low. I couldn't complete a training session and games were out of the question. I developed thrush and it was only then that my doctor asked had I been tested for diabetes. I hadn't so I went in the next morning and did a fasting blood test. That was a Thursday, and the following Monday my doctor called me and told me to get to the ER because I needed insulin ASAP. It transpires that the sepsis has basically killed my pancreas and left me as an insulin dependent diabetic. I'm currently undergoing tests on my thyroid at the minute to determine if it works properly too. My mental health is returning and I've gained weight too, although I've been very conscious of my diet ever since I was diagnosed diabetic. I've an appointment with a therapist this Friday, and my doctor has put my meds on weekly dispense to keep the temptation of overdosing away. I'm in the process of trying to get my visa so I can emigrate to Canada too. I'm also returning to training with my team next week, they asked why I hadn't been up in a while and when I explained the situation they said theu would waive my fees until I got back on my feet financially.
I hope everything gets better soon! It sounds like a real rough patch, but things seems to really be looking up!

the prep work for a colonoscopy is awful. I haven't eaten anything of substance since Tuesday at 8:30pm and I wont have anything until after 4ish today.

I played a really good complete game tonight. I had 1 goal 1 assist, but I made a few other plays that led to a few other goals.
I've come a long way since I began this journey in February, and I still have a long ways to go, but I am really enjoying playing!

I joined two leagues for the fall season. I played my first game in a new league last night. I started playing in February and I caught the hockey bug big time!

I've been using mine for a few weeks and I am loving them. I had the original superfeet yellow before and I feel like these more comfortable.

Almost sprung for the 1N but couldn't justify the price difference and I thought these were more comfortable (I think the lacing system lost me some depth on the 1N but maybe I'm just crazy). Still excited! Highest-end skates I've owned thus far and very comfortable with baking.
Those look awesome! What skates did you have before these?
I am getting the N9000 as well.

I was watching the Nexus N9000 skate review video on youtube by IW. They mentioned that the nexus line is going to fit different than the previous line. How much different will it be?

Fortunately, a store just down the road had a Road King that had been sitting on the floor for a while. This thing has a ridiculous number of options. Four channels, twelve modes, two effects loops and close to a dozen tubes. You can run any combination of tubes at the same time on different channels.
The road kings are super sweet! The only negative for them is the price of tubes when it comes to the time to replace them.

My current rig is:
1973 Ibanez "pre-lawsuit" Les Paul
Marshall TSL 100
The Ibanez is nothing short of amazing in feel and tone. The Marshall can get me any tone I really desire from squeaky clean to classic rock to metal.

I'm the same way. I just couldn't get used to it.
