  1. I have both. Top end boot for inline and the 300 for ice (I don't make it out of the ice near enough to justify buying the top end ones). I was pretty surprised how close they feel in quality. I feel like the top end boot is a little stiffer and more protective, but not enough that I've noticed a huge difference.

I'm also, ironically, a much better ice skater than inline skater so I'm not sure if that plays a role on my judgment or not.

  2. Broke up with the girlfriend today. 3 years, we live together, etc... just kind of slowly fell out of love. Has literally never happened to me before. There's no animosity for her, I just realized I wasn't happy anymore and it was rubbing off on her. So I had the conversation with her, like an adult. And holy shit. Apparently I'm a terrible human being. I knew it was going to be hard, but it was the right thing to do for both of us. Relationships are bullshit sometimes. I don't hate her and would like to someday be friends with her but goddamn. Tell me I'm not the only one to go through this.

So my dealer told me I've got a leaking head gasket (09 Infiniti G37, 60k miles).  They quoted me $4500 to fix it and since I'm about 6 months from trading it in for something new, that doesn't seem to make sense.  I've seen a bunch of different sealer products (like this: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/bluedevil-head-gasket-sealant-38386/7120032-P) that one can use to fix the issue (at least temporarily) but I'm not really mechanical like that so the instructions confuse me.

Do I have to clear the cooling system before putting in the sealant? If so, how do I do that? The guy at Auto Zone told me I have to change the oil after using this type of product, is that correct?  Would a mechanic be willing to run the sealant process for me? What should something like that cost?

If I do decide to have it fully repaired, is $4500 a reasonable number?

    Thanks for the help

FWIW that price is super high. I had to get my headgaskets replaced on my old Forester which is a notorious and expensive problem with subaru's due to the boxer engine. I paid $1700 for the whole job including having the heads machined. Take it to a mechanic that specializes in Japanese cars.

  4. I may have an unpopular opinion here, but non aggressive chirping is a blast. Especially if it's self deprecating. Like if I see a guy totally screw up something he tries to do? I'm gonna ask the guy to quit stealing my moves (ie; whiffing on a pass, falling when no one is near you, etc)

Also, if I'm playing against some dirty SOBs that are hooking, slashing and tripping me and my team? I will relentlessly verbally abuse them. Even from the bench. Because fuck those guys.

Shot blocking is a solid if you're not afraid of the pain and have the proper gear. Don't do it if you don't have a full cage, etc. Unless you hate having teeth. It can provide for some epic moments.

Don’t think your skating will rapidly improve over a short period of time. It will take a substantial amount of time and effort to have the mobility and ability you seem to want. The game is played much slower at the lower levels and you’re size really doesn’t matter at all for this type of hockey it’s not TV.

I think he gets the point that he shouldn't play like Kesler in a men's league. But size can come into play! You've just gotta be smart and not a prick about it. It's not about contact or physical play, it's about having that extra bit of reach, putting your body in between the other player and the puck, and screening the other goalie. But again, to be able to do this, you've gotta improve your skating otherwise it will be pointless.

I had my annual work review. I received a salary increase of 16%. It's great to be appreciated for the work I do and what I bring to the table.

Congrats! I just got a promotion from assistant supervisor to supervisor and I only got a 10% bump. Haha.
