As always, most important is lightweight and fit, along with good protection.
Of course, we will try to visit store, before that looking for advice and experience.
Lines that we are looking for are:
Vapor 1x lite and 1x ( heavily discounted now)
Jetspeed ft1
Nexus 2n
Warrior alpha qx
And supreme 1s.
Mobility and fit most important factor.
Most of the kids that we fit love the CCM Tacks line. Great protection, whilst still being light and mobile. Really depends on his build though. Warrior line is great, but definitely try it on, their stuff (minus shin guards) fits big.

They almost look like the Easton Mako M7's

What kind of build does your son have?

The Jetspeed SMU's were really good this iteration.

Sports Excellence sells one

Jetspeed line didn't do well last time, so I believe they are just trying to encourage more sales.

With that in mind, I would definitely go with the 2S over the pro.

The curves are very similar other than the toe. It's awesome if you shoot off the toe.

I'd love to go, so long as I can swing it with work.
Edit: I'm in, if invited

The 70K Skates are more narrow out of the box. Nothing fits like the 20K's did currently. The 70K's however have a good amount of volume to accommodate a lot of different feet.

It is a true P88 Clone.

You might want to add the Warrior Alpha Protective line to your elbow pad section. The large's fit huge

It was the IMS 11.0, but it was discontinued because "there was no interest"

The first thing I'd try is to pitch them forward +1 and see what that does for you before going too complicated.
I went from Ribcores to Nexus in my last skate upgrade. I found that I was having issues with stability and bite. I never had my skates profiled before so I kept things simple as possible. I went from the stock 10' radius to a 12' radius and did a +1 pitch. Worked like a charm.
I really liked what you had to say here, but Vapors are definitely more forward than Supremes or Nexus. They are more pitched than most CCMs I believe.

With youth skates there are 3 basic types of skate. There is the low end, much like the 2052 he has, there is a middle of the road (something like the 4092, decent skate, probably best for your son) that runs close to $100, and a high end (Ultra Tacks) that goes for about $180. With the high end skate, I usually don't put the kids in it unless they are on the ice almost every day.

Bauers are not good at all. Wasted 300bucks on Re-Akt 100, which finally gives enormous PAIN.
Bauer sent me to LHS, LHS said we cant do anything. Its head issue. Sure - no issues with Reebok 11K, Warrior, Even Bauer 7500, E700. Never.
Trouble is that I need gold color helmet and my options are very limited. If I knew I should buy two E700...
Go to a LHS and try the helmet on before you buy. You've been lucky that all the other ones you bought didn't give you pain to be honest. Everyone's heads are different and a LHS will be the one to get you the most comfortable.

You don't use multiple sets of runners do you? If not, for the people that don't want new holders I use this guide:
https://blogs.sparxhockey.com/stop-the-clicking-fix-your-loose-steel-with-this-hockey-hack
Honestly though, part of the problem might be the fusion steel too. There is a reason that Bauer discontinued it. It gets loose quicker, in my experience, than the regular blades do in the edge holders because of the aluminum on the top half of the blade.
-
Speaking from experience, the Ribcor skates have a high eyelet wall, making them able to accommodate a larger volume foot. Better heel lock than the nexus, and softer so it can mold to your foot better.

I would be shocked if within the next year Bauer and Pure didn’t announce an official partnership.

Many in the business, however, have short memories. Reebok did sell direct for a very short period of time back in 2003 via reebok.com. They listed many of their lower end items, which make up the core of any hockey company's sales. Reebok was threatened by the larger dealers and the hockey products were pulled from the site.
CCM has said that they don't plan on it right now, if the conditions stay the same. Basically, unless Bauer makes all the money doing this, CCM doesn't plan on following (at least that's what I've been told).

If this is about what I think it is, then I'm already mad about it.
-
Couple of questions:
- What in the process of making these blades makes them lighter? Is it the blend of steel that you use?
- What makes them stronger?
- What about the blades makes them glide better?
- How is the edge retention vs Step, LS4, or CCM SB Blacksteel?
-
Protective isn't as important as skates, so for things like elbow pads/gloves Play it Again should be fine. I'd suggest really taking the time to find the skates that fit you though.
Protection gear senior size. Recommendations and experience needed.

Tacks in a small or Warrior in a XS (or small depending on fit). CCM Tacks will be lighter, but the warrior is really a great, protective pad too.
Are you looking for gloves too? Honestly with gloves trying them on is your best bet. All fit differently, and each line is made to accomodate a particular style.
In terms of the helmet, Warrior also offers a gold helmet, they just don't offer it as a combo. They stock the Covert PX+ and PX2 in sport gold. In terms of the fit, what was the problem with the bauer helmets?
