Weren’t those old Easton sticks (original Stealth, I think?) 400 grams or lighter? It seemed like everyone kind of agreed 415-430 was about the sweet spot until Bauer disrupted that with the Vapor 1X Lite and ADV.

Yeah, that does go without saying, no question. I’d be so curious to see how many players actually have/had ribs, a metal faceplate, a self-healing gel or any of the other unique features in their actual stick that the retail models have/had.

Generally, it seems like Bauer and Warrior do a better job of getting their top guys in current (or future) product. Of course, they don’t turn over their whole stick line every year... My local store has a CCM banner of Crosby, McDavid and Burns with photoshoot product. It’s funny because they’re all shown using the latest, greatest sticks but none of them actually do. Whether it matters or not from a marketing perspective is a separate question, haha.

I asked because I was surprised there didn’t appear to be a custom option for a V-cut pro skate this year (at least available to consumers). I was wondering what they were going to do with Toews and all the rest of the more traditional non-Curv guys.

Probably a complete non-sequiteur, but the EA Sports NHL game has True/VH skates in the game for the first time this year. They were the only holdout with an NHL presence. -

If I remember correctly, the EQ5 line (EQ4 was a lower price point) was pretty wide. Mako is very narrow. Also, didn’t the EQ5 skate not make it to market?
