  1. Yeah there’s lots of gems in here. I didn’t realize jofa owned koho and titan. I’m also only 26 so it was before my time. But I do love jofa protective. I have shins and elbows. The shoulders were too much for me (CL for life) but the durability and protection is out of this world.

I tried on both the Vapor 1xLite Elbows and Shins but both felt really uncomfortable. The shins especially. Elbows felt like they would probably break in just fine but the shins did not form to my legs at all and actually felt like they stuck out further than my old Supremes. I’m gonna search for some of those CL shoulders!

I have heard good things about the RX3 line of protective. I think they have a trial period for 1 piece of gear so I may give that a go.

I’ve never worn Bauer vapour protective forever and I wasn’t a fan either  I jus know it’s their slimmer line that lots of people seem to like the vapour stuff.  I am a CCM/Reebok/jofa protective fan all the way haha.

  3. I mean they are older but the crazy light shoulders are unreal. Prob close to 8 years old now, they don’t absorb water and they seem plenty protective. I went form 11k to these. WOW like wearing nothing. Im not sure much about the FT1 which is the continuation of the line.

elbows prob vapour or any of the Jetspeed stuff. Or older crazy light. Again, super light stuff.

pants have been mentioned. The pro stock ones are great. Also girdles are a lighter more form fitting option. Personal preference there.

shins any of the “sleek” lines like the jetspeed and vapour.  Ones that have less thick of a liner and sit closer to your leg. I wear 7k pro with no liner because they stick out too far with it.

I like the sleek look too. I understand. I feel with the sleek gear it’s plenty protective. Let’s be real, the pros often wear it so it has to be fine. I just never get light weight elbows as I broke mine but for everything else thinner and sleeker the better.

    • Thanks 2

  4. I cut some of mine. I have had a few lock thumb pairs I couldn’t stand. There was zero movement. I love the franchise loops. They are so much longer and comfy. Never had issues on my HG12, CLs, sherwoods or Easton. Was too short on my HG98 and HGTK. Flex thumbs on my 97s and it’s fine.

I think it’s personal preference yeah it does open you up to some chance of getting your thumb whacked but sometimes comfort is important.

  5. Cool! Yeah I got my first pair of leather gloves the other day and they are NICE. My franchise have some of they fake stuff but yeah I see why you like them. I didn’t like the QRL cuff at all. It interferes with my elbow pads so bad plus felt weird. It doesn’t flare like the 12. .

  6. Awesome! I love mine. That cuff is out of this world. I have tons of gloves different styles and feels but I think I would always choose the 11k/12. Mine just have standard Nash palms as I’ve always preferred it. I’ve never tried digipalm. Bonus if that’s what you wanted!

Warrior has been up and down. I currently have a pair of the AX1 dynastys and they are similar enough to the Franchise. Not a huge fan of the QRL’s or Alpha. They need to go back to the MIA days. The franchise gloves were amazing.

I agree! I actually just ordered a pair of AX1 on SLS to try out. They are pro stock yakupov so I hope I like them

  8. Thanks guys. I see tons of pros still using them so I figure they Must be protective and lightweight. I am reading great things and for the price I see them going they’re worth a shot. No loss if they don’t work I’ll sell them.

do they come down far on your torso? My 11k are perfect. They almost meet my pants (super tacks). Back isn’t an issue because the spine pad on my tacks is adjustable.

  9. Hi. I’m buying a slightly used pair of these off Kijiji in my area. My 11k are just too bulky in the shoulders for my linking anymore. I’ve also had them since They were released and it’s time to get something a bit less bulky. Would these fit the bill?
thy seem to have much lighter foam and not as big of shoulder caps. I do love the 11k for the chest protection. How do these compare?
i used to have quicklites and HATED them (too short in the chest, not protective enough) but I’ve heard the CL is so so so much better in those areas

they are only 40 bucks and hardly used so I didn’t think it would be a huge risk if I hate them. Does anyone have any thoughts with these vs the 11k and them as a decent less bulky option?

    thanks

Those Olympics were amazing for Warrior. Oh how they have fallen. Awesome gloves!

What went wrong with warrior gloves anyhow? The franchise, luxe, even AX1 were such solid nice gloves. I’ll never ever give up my franchise 13Ns. Only gloves I’ll even consider repalming.

the new lines arent good. I tried QRL and I was so disappointed. I heard the alpha aren’t great either. That’s why I’ve switched to CCM pro stuff.

If you're worried about getting cut from skate blades, they make socks with kevlar over the calves and Achilles tendon for that. The soccer pads work great but will definitely give you a bowling pin look, especially if you already have large calves.

Yeah I have some. I don’t know how to deal with it. I’d prefer protection over looks though. It is what it is. Anything is an improvement over the jr set I’m wearing now. I can all ready tell these fit properly. They just don’t have tons of calf protection.

  12. Yeah I was thinking about finding some sort of flap (I see rbk jofa ones online) but I was trying to cut down bulk overall and adding something to make my leg look even thicker wasn’t really what I was hoping for. The soccer pads may work as yes im not going to take a slapper off the calf and I’m a forward. More from slashes, deflections, passes and skate blades. I appreciate the ideas. Going to go to my local sports store this week and see what they have. These shins look way better Han my Sherwood m90s

  13. Hey. I just got a pair of these off sideline swap. I have very big calf’s and I have a lot of issues with my shin pads sticking out like a tree trunk from my leg and not sitting flat against them. They usually hover on top. So I got these. They seem like they will fit much closer to my leg.

but my question is how is the protection? They are sooooo light and there is no calf protection at all in these. They are quite heavily used but have no cracks or defects. Is there something I should be wearing on the back of my leg? But then I feel it defeats the purpose of not having huge bulky pads. Thanks for your help

Yeah, Eagles are definitely not cheap, but they last. I have a pair of L29s now that are probably 15 years old, have been repalmed 3 times and are due for a 4th repalm. That's 5 palms on one pair of gloves and the shells are still in decent shape. My other pair were tan/natural H34s that lasted me a good 10 years and two repalms before everything fell apart. If I would have known they wouldn't remake that glove I probably would have had them fixed too, but I just tossed them and figured I'll get another pair. When I couldn't find I ordered custom L29s right before I took a break a few years ago and they're almost mint still. And then I just picked up a pair of black H34s that are sick.

The tufftek and portofino are not as durable, but still pretty good. I love the Cali tan color so I'm considering a custom pair of either PPF x905s or the Aero pro custom with the flex cuff (4 roll glove with a flex cuff!!) , but I haven't found a place to try them on yet and I won't get gloves that I didn't try on

I’ve played with their customizer a few time’s. Not sure the fit or differences in the gloves. Id prefer to try them on. I have been lucky with most gloves just ordering and trying but they were sub 130 dollars haha. I have small hands so I worry about width. I can’t wear nexus gloves due to the fit yet ccm pro (hg97/98) Gloves fit more snug and perfect isn’t the finggers. my 13N franchise are exactly where I think 4 rolls should fit. loose but not huge or falling off.

Yeah I agree. I never had an issue with locked thumbs. But the surgeon cuff is very different from the 11k.

The Dynasty ax1s were decent after the franchises, but it don't think the alphas are the same quality. Also, I definitely feel like there warrior pro stocks are a bit larger than marked. I wear Eagles for a long time now, but pretty much the only glove I would leave Eagles for is the 11k/HG12/14. If I could find a pair of leather 11ks I'd probably be wearing those, but the only ones I've ever seen are Crosby that are like 600+. Fine for collectors, but I wouldn't play in $600 Crosby gloves. (Although it did cross my mind recently to restore my old Easton gx9500 Modano pro stocks with new gussets and palms and see if I could find someone to split the finger pads from one piece to two piece). I looked into custom or pro stock coverts and was just not impressed with the protection. Don't get me wrong, if you have money to burn then be my guest, but if you're looking for comparable quality to 11ks you won't find it apart from CCM pro stock and maybe Sher-Wood and STX for cheaper options.

Yeah I’ve heard good things about the Ax1 and not so hot things about the alpha in terms  of quality and protection.

I want eagles but the price plus im unsure of the fit is why I don’t have a pair. I know they are fabulous though and would love a pair one day.

i actually just bought another HG12 with shot blockers off eBay. decided to stay away from the retail warriors I found on sale. I have 6 pairs of gloves so I need another pair like I need a hole in the head haha. thanks for the feeback!

I agree that the 11k/HG12 gloves are great. The only thing I personally don't love is that a lot of them don't come with a flex thumb (which is why you see a lot of cut thumb loops). If you really don't need the flex cuff, but want to try something new that has a tight fit in the fingers and backhand, but opens up in the cuff and has a flex thumb; I highly recommend Pro STX Surgeon 500 gloves; there are a few available at reasonable prices on SLS. Otherwise, I'd just stick to 11k's, but would personally look for a pair with a flex thumb (there are some pro stock 11k/HG12 that do have the flex thumb).

Good to know. I do love the cuff. It’s protective yet doesn’t restrict like my retail QRLs I sold. I don’t like flex thumbs much (well I don’t even notice them on the one pair of HG97 that have them) so it doesn’t matter to me. I may cut the loops on my pens HGTKPP though as the loop isn’t nearly long enough or something.

The QRL and QRL pro were decent gloves. The retail padding was awful IMO, but pro stock was decent. The qredge gloves are not great imo. They did not have the mobility of the QRL line and the flex cuff was not as good IMO. They are very comfortable and I would probably use warriors for outdoor street pickup, but not much more. I have a pair of pro stock alphas that I never wear (I liked the colors and got them from a friend for 10 bucks, they need full repalm) and I would say they are decent protection and very light and comfortable, but the foam definitely feels sub par compared to even my Eagles (which are not considered the most protective gloves by any means) so I don't think they will hold a candle to the 11ks/hg12s

Thank you. That’s what I was looking for. I loved the franchise so I was thinking their other line would be good as well. But I really do value protection and mobility. I used to only wear 4rolls (warrior Reebok or CCM) until I discovered the 11k. I have a pair of tacks as well but they don’t come close to the 11k even. They just looked similar in terms of idea with the cuff. Thanks a ton

If you're looking to replace 11ks I would just stick with them. Nothing warrior offers compares in quality or protection imo

Nah I just liked the look of the warriors and wanted to try something new. I have almost all (except warrior franchise MIC) CCM and Reebok.  Quite a few pros wear them so they can’t be awful (Pro stock ones)  I have a pair or 11ks and HG12s are in the mail. 13” are harder to find. Was just curious the difference but if I’m just going to be disappointed maybe I won’t lol

  19. I was looking at getting a pair of QRE. I sold my retail QRL as the cuff interferes with my elbow pads (the HG12/ 11k do not so I figured they’d be the same. Wrong) I see the QRE has a smaller flex cuff that would prob work better. Other than some custom cuffs, different palms etc what are the differences between the pro and retail gloves? Is the foam package thicker or better? Other than custom colours or palms, is there any advantage to pro over retail? I’d prob jus struck with team stock warrior gloves of that helps.

  20. penguins HGTKPP. i loved my retail tacks but the protection sucked. So I got these. The backhand padding seems great (have it on my HG97) the fingers also seem to have very thick D3O! So I’m sure these will be great gloves.

also picked up these today too AHL PORTLAND Reebok 11KP
