  1. yeah not really sure my first pair of pro stock socks or anything for that matter. I remember when the edge stuff first came out the practice socks all had white going down the back of them in that V shape and maybe even a little lower.

they didn't have that V panel, I've never seen that. the old ones had a white panel on the bottom, rear of the sock.

  2. TBL, I was actually looking for this info a couple months back. I remembered that I saw someone did this but couldn’t remember who and find the post. How has this held up and have you found it to be effective?

I have no idea, I sold them to someone on MSH a long time ago(in fact, they were long gone when I made that post. I only had one90s for a few months). I'm using heavily modified Bauer 5000s that are in this thread...I did basically the same thing to those but a bigger mod with a strip of nylon from a dog leash, which is working perfectly and has been for about 6 years.

  3. I envy you. Wasn't a fan of the Adrenaline but the XN10 remains my favorite stick ever.

I didn't like the M-1's, but the HE750 on the other hand, that was a great glove.

Funny you should say that because coincidentally, I have Chadd's pair of custom MSH H750s

  4. This is exactly why goalies (well, sensible goalies) have no issue spending $300-$2000 on top-grade custom masks. Granted, some of us then go and spend almost as much again on paintjobs, but I was only arguing for particular rather than general sensibility. I really believe it's cultural, too: goalies are incredibly judgemental about peers who throw massive cash at tricked out pads and then go around wearing a salad bowl on their heads. (Just like I was there.) We get a good chuckle out of one of our number wearing a replica '70s mask the same way players are amused by someone wearing a Gretzky Jofa, but ultimately, the judgement is there, and in the form of (good natured) public shaming.

Now, I'm not suggesting that anyone who doesn't buy one of these Easton helmets should be pilloried; only that there is a difference in the culture at the ends of the ice about protecting the head, and that a helmet that behaves as ragan suggested should gain acceptance as fast as Harrison's mask+cage design did in the 1980s. (Dan Cloutier aside...)

That drives me nuts. I know plenty of people that shoot harder than me and I've dented my friend's Sportmask's cage almost an inch from a wrist shot...and people are wearing Itech/Bauer 2500s.

The problem with player versus goalie masks is that it's much harder to get valid info on a players' helmet...and what's to say that one helmet is not better in one area but worse in another area? With goalie masks it's pretty easy to tell how good your mask is when someone rings a good one off of it.

  5. I like how they feel for puck handling. Some claim they "shoot better", whatever I can shoot just as well with almost any pattern if given some time with it.

I'm just glad I scooped up all my Kovalchuk variations before they got popular and the price started to skyrocket. I hate the Ovie pattern's semi-popularity because one guy on a team always has one and he shoots exclusively at my eye level.

  6. I asked about the blue and was told it's slightly darker than in the pictures. But yes, the CCM logo is silver and not black like Vinny's were. Also there was a silver stripe on VC's gloves that continued up onto the cuffs which these don't have. I still am curious about the history of the gloves though; could not find any retail gloves with this colorway anywhere. Doubt I'll ever find another pair any closer than these especially for what I got them for so I'm pleased.

Also the black on the thumb continues to the "backrolls" there is no blue break and the silver outline on the thumb should be white.

  7. Customer service in India. When someone lies to you off the bat you already know they aren't going to be helpful. Your name isn't Joyce Smith and you are a liar. Go ahead and ask me 12 questions to verify I'm not lying about who I am, you're still a liar. I will NOT repeat myself again, it is your job to listen.

...and to think I was in a great mood about 20 minutes ago.
