Got up at 6:45 this morning...was on a commuter train to Toronto at 9:00. In line at Skydome (I refuse to call it Rogers Centre) before the gates opened at 11 to make sure we all got a Robbie Alomar HOF bobblehead prior to watching his jersey retired and the Jays beating up on the Rangers. There were only 20,000 available and the place was sold out (over 45,000).
Got home and opened the box...my bobblehead is broken. It has a broken arm, and is cracked at the base.
I know in the grand scheme of things....not really a big deal...but a lot of planning went into the 7 of us that went all getting into Toronto on time...and it is a little bit of a piss off.

A bit of both honestly. LOL! It started Jan 1/11. We all put in $10 and picked 10 "celebrities" we thought would kick it this year. You get 100-age at death for each person on your list. Next January...person with most points wins the pot. It's worth $150

Well, she lasted 5 years longer than I thought she would.
She had to make it to the magic music death age of 27. Morrison, Cobain, Joplin, Hendrix...all died at 27.
Oh, BTW...I just got 73 points in our death pool. All I need now is Abe Vigoda or Zsa Zsa Gabor to kick it in the next 5 months.

I liked the trees. Were they causing problems (blocking too much light, roots etc)?
They weren't causing problem, necessarily...but they had obviously been neglected for quite some time...and were getting pretty ratty. I have no green thumb and zero patience for that kind of stuff...so maintaining, and trimming them really wasn't an option for me. I found there were a lot of bugs around the front area too...and I've noticed a big decline now.
While I did like the privacy they offered...I find the breeze through that front window is much nicer now (in a house without AC)!

In the (almost) 2 years since I moved from an apartment into a house, I've taken great pride in the amount of work I've been able to accomplish with no professional help. I did hire someone to install the furnace and insulate the attic, but the new front door, some plumbing, the bathroom reno I'm in the middle of and...possibly my favourite project so far...removing these trees, have been just me and a couple friends.

Now if only it would rain to green up that front lawn a touch. It looked sooo good in May! LOL! Can't really bring myself to just let the hose run on it. I want nature to take care of it herself!

I can't even imagine how frustrating and scary it must be to have post concussion symptoms for this long. I hope he can make a full recovery and resume his career.

Co-worker has pink eye. He was here for a couple days before he went to the Dr. I suppose I've been exposed...why does my left eye feel itchy all of a sudden. FML!

Not allowed to drive to work. Not allowed to drive to school. For "pleasure" driving only.
Tell them working makes you happy. Therefore it meets the requirement of pleasure driving.

My Girlfriend was playing with her new camera this weekend...so she came out and shot at my Sunday night pickup group. I wish I was actually doing something in these *L* But, better than the ones of me on the bench.

People have varying degrees of vents. Some are tragic or very personal...others seems frivolus to those not involved. Try to be sensitive to one another.
Yes, It's an open forum to "vent". Sometimes you just have to think about the juxtaposition of the topics.

Tonight is the night. Going to Habs/Leafs with tickets I won at the company Christmas Party. Too bad it ends up being a nothing game for both teams, but the rivalry is always good. And, my GF has only been to Bulldogs (AHL) games. I told her this will be a little different than Copps with 3,000 people. :)
** - I guess not a total nothing game. Habs still have a seed to lock up. Nice to do it with a win rather than having to wait and see what Buffalo/NYR/Carolina do.

The company just reworked the vacation formula. I get 5 weeks starting Sept 1/11. Gotta start saving up so I can actually DO something with that extra week *L*

Sent promos to a voice talent in Nashville yesterday. Was told it would be 10 day turn around. Low and behold....they came back this evening. I can get this project done before I go on vaca now!
