I think he finished out the year Murray was replaced with Black skates...then the first full year under Hitch switched back to White.

We're going to have to get an Edmonton picture into that rotating Banner soon.

Not sure these pics will work. A highschool in the Niagara Falls area has created the AC/DC Junk Band, using instruments made from found items...including hockey sticks.

Wonder what they sound like!

A goal and assist for David last night...and here's what Dallas Eakins had to say after the game (From tsn.ca);
"I think we have a lot there," said Eakins.. "He can score, he competes hard and he's not afraid to get his nose dirty. We've let him loose on the penalty kill a little bit. I think we have a very well-rounded player and another guy who is excited to play hockey. He really likes to play the game and that's important." -
I mean I get it, its the summer, we're guilty of bringing in a couple of guys here and there to give us two lines on a few given nights, but we're not bringing in borderline A/B guys to play in a C league. Best part was the most of the regulars on that team never saw the ice the whole game which shows you that they only brought them in to win the damn thing for them. It was bogus, but what can you do. Its just beer league...
Obviously, that's the part they don't get!!!!

haha Thanks. Oh, btw JR...Lawrie's average is creeping up to respectable, but still has a lot of work to do. Hitting .245 after yesterday.

Went to a Blue Jays game today. Got selected to play one of their between innings games and won a Honda lawnmower. Apparently, the thing is worth over $600. Could it be...I'll actually WANT to cut the grass?!?!?

Good awesome things are happening lately to me and i love it. My son turned 1 year old, i got promoted at work, and was approached by BASE hockey to get fitted for a stick so i can do a review.
At work i wasnt certified at work to speak in spanish, i went off on an interpreter at work.
"Tell the patient i cant help her because she doesnt qualify, by a long shot i have another idea but can't say it will work"
Interpreter says to the lady that i guarantee to fix her issue.
i Yell at the interpreter and they hang up on me, i call em back they hang up, so i turn to my boss and say never again. i start talking directly to patients in spanish. Two weeks ago a pretty higher up person came up to me and asked if i was the one who refuses to use interpreters, i say yes and grab my backpack thinking i'm fired and she says "congratulations we're basing our spanish program around you and how you interpreted everything. You will be compensated, become a higher level patient advisor, and get a raise, and better benefits.
Man i love my job, i can help people!
Wow...be thankful you work for a company that recognizes ability/initiative and skill. Lots say they do, but there aren't many that ACTUALLY do!
Congrats.

ahhh...never really understood what "Escrow" meant. I don't believe we use the term here. At least not in any financial dealings I've ever had.

3 meetings...2.5 hours, but I think it's all sorted out.
An overpayment to Bank X (I'm recovering that amount)...a tax account created at Bank Y using my mortgage money (I'm recovering some of that...they still have to make a property tax payment next month) **not sure if they do this in the States, but up here, the bank can manage/pay your city taxes for you.**
When all is said and done, every cent of the $5k is accounted for. Now...I did still over spend on the work by close to a Grand...that's on me...and I didn't fully understand the way the taxes were going to be worked out...Chalk that up to poor 'advising'...in hind sight $113k is what I should have gotten.

So annoyed right now. My mortgage is with Bank X. Bank Y was offering a cash back incentive to move a mortgage. In theory, the cash they give you will cover any penalties/fees (which were calculated at roughly $1200-1500 between the 2 banks) associated with breaking the current mortgage, and in most cases leaves you a little bit left over.
So...I needed just over $107,000 (fees included) for my existing mortgage, and I want to do some work at the house, so I add another $5k to the new mortgage ($112k total). The $2200 cash back from the promo gives me just over $7k for the work and fees, and leaves me some extra.
Well...the pay out to Bank X was more than I expected and there must be a BANK Y fee or something I was not made aware of when I/we did the math....because out of the $5k I added....I am left with only $1980, and the work ended up totally $5800. (I've already have the work done/paid for). So, even with the $2200 promo cash, I not only don't get to have a little bit left for myself...but my L.O.C is stuck with the difference...which means (drum roll please)...I'm actually paying for at least part of the work on the house TWICE. Once on the mortgage, and once on the L.O.C.
Have a meeting with them today to see exactly where the pay out numbers differed from what we talked about...but he knew going in what I needed to do the work. So if the fees weren't going to leave me enough I should have been "Advised" better by this so called Financial Advisor.
I kinda expect to get ripped by someone for not having all my math correct, but that's why dumb radio guys go to banking professionals for this stuff...we no damn good at math.

Ian White is young (29) and experienced (500+ NHL games) but has been on 5 teams in the past 3 seasons...
I can't figure out if that means NO ONE wants him or EVERYONE wants him! hmmmmm.....

I've read a lot of people (on facebook and tsn forum) saying the trade is bad b/c David has "Concussion problems"
I know the Thorton hit had him out for a long time, but he never had another one, did he??

You make a good point!

So, I'm walking across the lot at lunch and there is a charity BBQ event at the bank. One of our stations is set up and I see Brusier, the mascot from the Bulldogs. I haven't seen 'Brusier' since the season ended. I wave and I was pretty sure he saw he...gave me a thumbs up!
Now...he wasn't wearing the "normal" Bruiser suit that is very easy to get around in....he was in the 8' inflatable version....so when he came bounding over my way...I said "Hey Bruiser" and stuck out my hand for the customary mascot highfive! Well....he must have been happy to see me, because he threw a massive hug on me that knocked my glasses off and bent the shit out of one arm. When I went to straighten it....it snapped!
Not being able to break character...he just kinda took off and we went on our ways. I texted him later and he felt pretty bad about it.
Funny story...not really a vent, but while I had been planning to get an eye exam and new glasses...It wasn't in my immediate plans. It's now part of my day off plans Monday!

A friend texted me "Dick Trickle killed himself" I thought that was Tom Cruises' character in Days of Thunder....so, I thought Tom Cruise had killed himself. I had to double take and remember that the character was Cole Trickle!

Back in the day, I ordered my GF an "I <3 Darcy Tucker" (before <3 was a 'thing' yes, it pained me to do so) t-shirt from NHL Shop. I searched through my CC bills, and I honestly don't think I was ever charged for it...but she got the shirt.

We get the same thing here. Kids come in on tours from local Media/Radio programs and all they talk about is..."can I come work here", "who do I send my resume/demo to"....but when it comes to hiring, they all either have other jobs they can't get way from...or weekends are a problem. Most of our part time work IS evenings and weekends...and I TOLD you that when you first said you were first interested.
We hired 5 new Ops (studio producers) and within 6 months, 4 of them flaked out on us. Kids don't want to work for it...or put in any time. They want a $35,000 production job handed to them. News flash...you have to start PT and IF you are lucky enough to get to FT...it's not gonna be that high!!!
