  1. Bauer/Tuuk also had a Titanium blade as well.
  2. Every skate has a fit profile. The MLX skate fit a specific foot type, just like every other skate out there. You can't increase/decrease volume, nor can you increase/decrease the skate sole width. While the skate had very good heat-molding properties, let's not get it twisted.
  3. When I was in MI, a woman walked into the shop; she was from another rink. She had a shop in there and they lost out on their lease. She pointed to ours and she was like "we have one of those, want it?" All we had to do was take a truck down there to pick it up, no charge. They were expensive when they came out, and had to be bought outright (at least that's what they told my shop at the time.) Needless to say, it wasn't necessarily a success.
  4. Looks like we'll be sitting down with them while I'm in Vegas; we'll see then.
  5. ...and when you have a warranty issue you may not have a leg to stand on.
  6. "Designed that way" is a strong phrase to use. Nothing to do with the materials in the boot and everything to do with the fact that MLX sold direct-to-consumer. With dealers involved this time around and a larger audience, it would behoove them to not recommend anything but a skate oven at a LHS. FIT Machine actually came out 10 years ago with the 1152 Tack; while they recommended it with the U+, it's not like they were still selling them by then. You certainly can't get one now.
  7. Thread reopened. Thought I was doing the honorable thing by respecting the launch; I guess the rest of the industry feels differently.
  8. I created a vacuum port using PVC piping which works well, just not as secure onto the machine as much as I'd like (it has a reducer on there which also has a smaller inner diameter)
  9. Revolver is just too cool LOL..it's too much work taking the cover off, reading the fine print on the spinner and loading it every time. Suggestion - can you guys make and sell an adapter from the current exhaust to a common vacuum hose size or PVC tubing? I have never found one, it's a weird diameter.
  10. If I am not mistaken, the machine came with one FBV and one standard ROH Spinner; I know mine did. Well, time to try the 90/75.
  11. That's 1/2", not mislabeled. Here is 1/2" and 100/50 side-by-side.
  12. Take a picture of the Spinner - down the hollow. I once had a mislabeled one.
  13. I still say a shallower FBV. You're acknowledging the fact that you're getting extra bite. You could buy the individual Spinner and give it to the sharpener every time you sharpen your skates.
  14. So you're going to recommend someone a deeper hollow than what he's skating on, just because YOU like it? M - you should probably move up to something with a bit less bite. 85/75 and 80/75 are available hollows. Also, keep in mind, ice conditions give the hollow a different feel regardless of hollow; ice is softer now than it will be in the winter, which explains why you're feeling sticky edges at the current FBV.
  15. It just won't spin the wheel, that's all. It's not going to explode.
  16. Those are Cooper - just goes to show you not much has changed since 1995.
  17. I've had one coming up on 4 years and I've never replaced it. Call them - they will be more than happy to answer questions.
  18. Retail APX Pro. Thanks, JD!
  19. Once you get past the coating, sharpening is the same. It's just regular stainless underneath.
  20. Just framed it (replaced original post's picture) but no mancave as of yet. Maybe when I move up to MI; I do have quite a bit of stuff. I've got signed jerseys stashed away in several locations of my house, and nowhere to display it.
  21. Signed by the artist and numbered 29/100, this was the mural at the 2012 ASG, signed by all of them at the Bauer Pro Camp. The Bauer crew gave it to me at SummerJam, but was flat and so they shipped it to me.
