  1. It was nice to see David Booth fight Richards last night, I think it was his 1st fight ever.

“That was kind of expected. I don’t really know what I’m doing when I fight,” Booth said. “But it was just a lot of…I don’t know what’s built up, but what could have been this year if you were playing, you think about that. But that’s behind me now. I don’t have to worry about that. I can just go out there and play and be free of this. I’m back to 100 percent.”

Booth added: “I just wanted to get it off my chest. It wasn’t cheap or anything. I just asked him if he wanted to and he was good enough to give me my shot.”

    Sticks- 2 piece all the way- AK27/one95 - Dolo/dolo - U+ cut makes a great shaft - Dolo(Zyuzin) - Dolo(Brule)

    Socks- Pro Edge and Swift

  3. Georges is done in Montreal and I would suspect for good. The timing does kinda of suck with his connection to Haiti, but from a hockey standpoint, the game has passed him.

I only hope one day other teams start to get rid of the "fighter" who can't really contribute in other ways.

I like Georges (loved him in Edmonton, scoring the odd goal, jumping off the glass) seems like a nice guy, big heart, local charity supporter and great sense of humor, but as he has even said, the role of the fighter will diminish to nothing and that time has come for him.

  4. They have had two long playoff runs the last two years, that starts to catch up at some point. The number of guys playing in the Olympics isn't going to help there either.

Agreed, I watched them live in Calgary last week and then on TV in EDM and Van, the guys looked tired(except Staal, guy is awesome, great to watch in person).

As much as Sid battles during the shift, when he hit the 45 sec mark his legs were done(like most guys in the NHL, but Sid looked really gased some shifts)

The Oilers were able to go many years of Oct to June hockey with no real effects of fatigue, but I think the toll of todays game after two years of Oct to June grinds and the training from Aug-Oct starts to wear on the body, even that of the young guys. Now throw in the Olympics, that is alot of hockey over three years.

It's early but I don't see a cup run this year.

I don't like to count guys like Sid, Gino, Staal & Fleury out (especially after last years comeback), but I just don't think they have enough left in the tank to go to 3 straight finals. An early exit might not be the worst thing going forward.

  5. Floyd Mayweather is a bitch.

When they 1st agreed to the fight, I thought that it was way to easy, when dealing with a Mayweather.

If the fight does happen Floyd is in for a world of hurt, Pacman really doesn't seem to like getting screwd around (of course he fights hard/smart when he's not mad too)

This was going to be the 1st fight in years I was going to pay to see.

  6. From CBC-

    15. Ray Shero’s big decision: 36-year-old UFA Sergei Gonchar for three/four years at $15-$20 million US, or 23-year-old RFA Kris Letang at $3-$4 million US per. Gonchar is such a huge part of the locker room, but at that price, Pittsburgh may have to say goodbye.

    16. In 2010-11, Penguins have $41 million committed to 13 players. Then, it’s $36 million for seven in 2011-12, and $30 million US for just five guys in 2012-13. Those five guys: Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Orpik and Fleury. Critical pieces, absolutely. But, how many more big salaries can you carry, since Gonchar wouldn’t come off the cap as an over-35 contract?

  7. I wonder if any of the other Bluea re aware of MSH and David's cult like following here. If they are...I wonder how much chirping he gets over it?

Chirp him over MSH, they are more likely to chirp him over his love for Lady Ga Ga & Poker Face.

  8. That Sedin curve looks real nice, reminds me of a Stall P91A but more closed and maybe a touch larger curve, I'd love a curve like that.
I knew it! I've probably been outbidding him all along, it's been between me and only one other guy throughout the auction.

Ebay 101... If you waited til the final minutes to place your bid you may have been able to get them for a lot less ;) I never place a bid with more than 5 minutes to go (usually try to wait til under 1 minute to be honest), especially when you think someone else is watching/bidding

Unfortunately I tore my ACL a few weeks ago and am in the process of planning my next course of action, so that means no new gear for me for a while, I'm spending my money on camera gear and/or car parts for the time being (although I'm going to try to get to the Islanders sale to see what I can pick up, I'll make sure to report back if I do).

Off topic from show it off, but I only bid with 5 secs left. I cannot for the life of me, figure out why people bid on items days and hours in advance, unless there is a reserve. Can someone explain?

  9. Just scored myself a new pair of NBH 4Rolls black/white 13" on the cheap :) not going to waste your time with pictures because I'm pretty sure every person on this board knows exactly what they are lol :P

Then why put it in the Show it off thread?

  10. I'm confused, I thought, with the re-introduction of the flexlites, that the Vapors would've been phased out. I haven't gone through the catalog yet as I haven't had time, but is this still the case with the skates, or is Bauer now going to carry 3 lines?

The Vapor line is a huge seller for Bauer, that wasn't going anywhere. Flexlites would be the least profitable of the three lines, the classic all black should create more interest than the previous silver.

I am happy Bauer will continue the Flexlite line, but I was hoping they would bring in the tech of the 12/20 and not just the 18.

  11. But you said there is no pic i repeat no pic. lol X ray or not you can see what the skate basicly looks like which is better than nothing. It is differnt than the xxxx. Once i figure out how to post a pic on here ill put them up so people can get a little glance...

Post the pic after the mod(JR) told you the pic is not to be shown, is asking to be banned or warned. I love how two guys with 50 posts combined are talking smack to a MOD and Senior member.
