Product: Sprayfresh is a multipurpose professional quality deodorizer spray for "total environmental odor control." In reality it is a non-toxic, color safe "bleach" that works miracles on the order of the loaves and fishes against equipment odors. We are all familiar with hockey funk. While some deny it, and others take pride in it, the great majority of us fight a constant draw with hockey odor. We air out our gear. We try various over the counter sprays. Yet anything short of a flame thrower and buying new gear every three months results in the inevitable, unmistakable, hockey funk. Those of us that live in cold weather climates are faced with a very unpleasant dilema around this time of year. Invite the odor into the basement/bathroom/fireplace to dry out the gear or let it freeze in the garage. A choice between bad and worse. Shortly after moving into a new apartment recently I began to notice an increasing number of sick children on my floor. Migratory birds began to drop dead onto the balcany, and not from exhaustion as I had previously theorized. It was my hockey funk. Something needed to be done. Enter Sprayfresh. Sprayfresh is the one and only odor treatment spray that I have ever used that actually works, and works well, for serious odors. My gloves were at that stage where after playing I would wash my hands with antibacterial soap and they would still reek. First, I washed my equipment in a front loading laundry machine with a mixture of Oxi-clean and Tide. You can wash everything but skates and helmet this way, works great, just be sure to rinse well. If a professinal cleaner is available in your area, do it before you start using Sprayfresh. For grins and giggles, I only sprayed Sprayfresh into an old pair of gloves in order to compare them to the Oxi-cleaned gloves. While the Sprayfresh alone was a vast improvement, starting with a clean product is critical to long term success. I have been using Sprayfresh for about two months and everything is just bleachy. My spare bathroom smells like a pepperment swimming pool and I couldn't be happier. Sprayfresh is availble online from epuck.com and comes in a 16oz. and gallon size. For other Sprayfresh products and more information, the website is www.sprayfresh.ca. I spray my gear (including skates and bag) after every second use and a 16oz. bottle lasts about 2-3 weeks. While the label lists a variety of "residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial" uses I have only used it on hockey gear, but would trust it to work well on any odor problem. I have won the fight against hockey funk. I am in no way compensated (pretty sure the Sprayfresh corp. doesn't even know I'm alive) for this product review. I'm just a guy whose gear used to qualify as a biological weapon. A serious solution to a serious problem. 10/10.
