excellent pictures. I've been trying to figure out for weeks if this was an "open" girdle like the TO. how much "give" is in the step in part?could you easily cut it out to make it more like the fully open girdles?

for those of you that missed it in the Show It Off thread, my gf's new VH skates. we both currently skate in MLX. turn around was about 2 weeks.

we'll find out soon. super busy this week. might get to bake them tonight but it'll be the weekend before we can get them profiled.

I guess I should've showed that part but yes, it's a two piece junction.

nope, that is (I assume) the new tendon guard. the back of it says True. my gf's not crazy about the blue. I told her that we can always color it in with a black paint sharpie.

new VH skates for my girlfriend. many thanks to JR for helping us do the drawings and measurements when we were in Detroit back in April. :)

now that the Caps are out I will share my theory. I think they play Holtby too much in the regular season. not saying it was his fault but I think if they played him about 5-8 games less he could be that goalie that stands on his head April, May and June.

one more pick up that I was waiting for my Pens to eliminate the Caps to post:

I have no recollection of an email but it's possible it ended up in the spam.

I did. I was a Kickstarter backer AND got the X ring as soon as it was available.

One dumbass apparently didn't bother changing his filter when the "change air filter" light came on, and ended up actually causing some smoke/burning as a result. In response, Sparx sent out a free air filter to all of its customers. Definitely was not something they had to do, but it was still very much appreciated.
interesting that you say that because I didn't get one..... :(

should those of us that have one be concerned about using it?

did this topic get un-pinned?

the Sparx is basically a fully contained unit. I've had a Wissota hooked up to a shopvac for years and while it helps keep the dust down it doesn't capture probably even half of the dust. the Sparx is catching virtually all of it. those of us who got in on the Kickstarter pricing got a HELLUVA deal.

I played in USA Hockey Nationals there a few years ago. fantastic facility!

me too! I'm fanatical about even edges. it's a big reason why friends have me sharpen their skates rather than the shop at the rink.

good unboxing video! I got mine on Thursday too. haven't been home long enough to set it up yet.

and the shell collection continues to grow.....
