Ebay Question

I made an ebay purchase...sent payment via paypal that night (Apr 4). On Apr 7 I got Feedback that said the item had been shipped (USPS from Minny to Hamilton). It's been almost 2 full weeks...other than a stick I bought, nothing has taken more than 6-7 business days...

I e-mailed the guy to see if he had a tracking number...apparantly you can't track USPS outside of the states. He said he has had trouble to Canada before...

Now, I didn't pay the extra for Insurance...if the item doesn't show, am I screwed?

Your stick might be getting held up at customs. Did the seller mark the stick as a gift? I've purchased on eBay from the states before and my shipping times ranged from 1 Week-3 Weeks after the seller received payment.

This is a jersey. I've bought a few things (jerseys etc...) on ebay and nothing has ever taken more than 6-7 days.

I did buy a stick once (private sale on MSH) that took about 3.5 weeks. I was just using that as an example.

I sold some stick blades from US to Canada. They got held up at customs, and the buyer had to fork over another $7 bucks. They are probably on some loading dock waiting for someone to call you.

BTW, what the hey is going on. Sticks made in US, shipped to Canada, isn't there supposed to be a NAFTA free trade agreement that lets all this stuff thru untaxed???

I would give it another 2 weeks, then report it to ebay. If the seller has a good feedback record (no negatives, and a good bunch of positives), it is probably just as he says, held up at customs.

Yeah the guy seems pretty straight up. Lots of good feedback...as a buyer and a seller.

I bought gloves from an online store in Detroit they were sent UPS, in a box, that was loosely taped. You could actually see into the box and tell what was in it...and I got those with no problems. Go figure.

I hope that is the case. Like I said this guy seems pretty legit. I guess Im just itchin' cause I lost out on one of these...and like a week later found another one. It's the late 90's All Star jersey, that I plan to get done up a la my avi.

I don't think you have to worry. The guy seems very legit, and since you payed by Paypal you are covered by the Buyer's Protection policy (so if nothing shows up within 30 days of the auctions closing date, contact Paypal or file a claim directly through them). Also for future purchases, ask your stuff to be shipped by Fedex International Economy, they always provide you with a tracking number, and its almost as cheap as USPS, and they don't charge ridiculous customs fees like UPS , and it does not take forever (about 4-6 days delivery max). I live in Canada too and buy a lot of stuff from the States as well so I know what you are going through.

exactly. gotten lots of stuff from USA and it varied in shipping.
