Stick Wax for Grip

Recommended Posts

Just wondering, cause I use wax on the shaft to add a little grip but I don't know if it will damage my palms. I have Easton z-airs 2002 with the kangaroo leather palms. Just wondering if this is a good idea.

I don't think there's anything acidic in the wax so it should be ok. It won't help too much anyway since it'll be gone after the first period.

I tried it once with an older pair of gloves. Didn't seem to help much with grip and all the wax ended up on the palms of my gloves.

but in comparison, what do you think is the best type of palm that holds up pretty well and has good feel? Goatskin, kangaroo leather, cow leather, nash, or whatever brett hull uses on his lower hand palm?

The best grip I've ever had in gloves is my old Graf 700s. Mine are fairly uncommon as the reinforcement pad is leather and not nash.

the best palms that held up and had a decent feel for me were the kevlar covered palms on the old itech i-90s. i used those gloves for a couple years and the rest of the glove fell apart before the palm even showed they were wearing down.

i use sticky-bumps waxs, made for surfing. it lasts about a month playing 4-6 times a week.

i really like that grip mixed with polarfibre. its a good grip, and works well with my x71s w/goatskin palms.

i use sex wax (surf wax) on my xn10 and it works great. u just add a good amount where u shoot and just add some more on when it starts to fade out. also i havent seen any wear on my x70's and ive been doing the wax thing for about 3 months.

One of our local shops is now carrying Mr Zog's. I found it online by searching google before.

Digital? That looks sweet, I can't wait to get some on my gloves. It's supposed to be tough too.

I'm pretty sure that Digital is the exact opposite of tough.

that mr. zogs wax...is it just like a wax you would use for your tape? i don't really understand how it would add grip...i've been looking around for a product to add some kind of grip to my sticks...is there anything that makes the inno polarfibre feel? or anything like an easton grip? i've found this kind of pine tar-ish bat spray at sports authority...but i never really played baseball so i don't know what pine tar feels like...
