Composite Mini-Sticks?

Recommended Posts

Probably, look what this world is coming to...it's only time before you can punch an NHL'er into your stick and all of a sudden, you shoot like him, stickhandle like him, hit like him, etc....

Technology can help a player perform at there best but it can never make up for lack of a good work ethic and talent.

Or plain lack of skill. I certainly suffer from that.....

I know it's been some time since this thread was active but I thought I would throw a note in here anyway.

First, to all the guys with the nice compliments on Comp-o-stik I thank-you, we are very proud of this product and designed it to be the highest performance hockey tape in the world. We did not design it to be more expensive than other tapes, just to work better.

In that there were many comparisons of price in this thread. Value is in the eye of the beholder. If 1 x 30 roll of tape cost $2.99 that's about $1.00 per yard. A stick blade is 3" tall at the most, usually less, and you need 20 wraps to tape the blade that's just over 3 yards to tape a stick and about $0.30 in tape. The real question is how long it lasts on the blade. If you only get 1 game out of it that roll of tape will last about 10 games and it's cost you $3 to keep tape on your stick. What if the tape lasted 5 games so you only needed to tape it twice at a total cost of $0.60 to get through 10 games. What is the better value then?

That last post got a little long, sorry. Anyway if you didn't guess I have something to do with the company that makes Comp-o-stik. We are really pleased at the responses that have appeared on this board. It's very satisfying to see players who recognize the quality we put into a roll of tape.

I've been in this business over 20 years. I hear "Tape is Tape" a lot and I konw that it isn't really true. All the comments in this thread are valid opinions and we certainly respect them. A lot of players think tape is tape.

For the guys who notice there are many differences. There are different cloths, different adhesives and even different ways to put them together. If you make the right choices when you make your product you can create something that does stand out but you have to try the various products out to believe it.

Define "mini stick". To me, the CCM V130 Youth is a "composite mini stick". It looks like a "real" stick but is just so tiny, I was almost wanting to buy one as a souvenir once.

I saw something on the news last night that said people were playing some kind of underwater hockey with snorkels and like a lead ball... So knee hockey isn't out of the picture.

I remember seeing that when I was a kid.
