Hex-2

Recommended Posts

Hi, I read something on here a while ago about someone seeing a Hex-2(two piece hex-1, gold color). Does anyone know anything? I've tried searching, but didn't come up with anything, I thought the timing could be good with mission releasing their Inline stuff soonish and some of it crosses over to ice(like Heluim gloves)!

Im not sure what the point of having a Hex2 would be. I thought the Hex referred to the blade in the Hex1, the hexagonal design. I dunno though, maybe it's an M2ish stick with different shaft dimensions or something?

Well the shaft would be lighter and the blade would have the Hexagon concept

Malcb posted that he wanted info on a Hex2 (two piece hex1)...so how would it have a blade? Unless, Mission is getting into the replacement blade catergory for standard shafts....

Why do you assume it is a standard shaft/combo? I believe the thread it was first mentioned in said it was a tapered combo and Mission used to make replacement blades as well, tapered (which they do now again) and standard. Generally if companies come out with a product like a Hex-2, they make a blade to go along with it. R2/R2 Xn10, Synthesis, Focus Flex/Z-Bubble, XV, X, Vector line, L-2, etc.. The M-2 is often compared to the Ultra lite model from Easton, which is generally percieved as a mixture of performance and durability, not really a "premium" shaft, like the Z-bubble and a few others, where I'd assume the Hex-2 would (if it exists) would follow in its OPS counterparts footsteps and go after an "Ultra-Premium" market.

Next season we will likely see updated tapered shaft and blade combos using the Hex and Synergy SL as the basis for the design.

I had a post about Mission making a composite standard replc. blade, and the response was that Mission would only be focusing on L2 tapered blades for the time being. So when I responded to Maclb, I was using the info given to me on here. So I didn't understand why he would be inquiring about a 2 piece, when according to info on here, Mission would only have the M2 in the linup for standard shafts. I thought I was just providing good info, that I heard on here.

But, you're right EZ. A "premium market" shaft would be sweet. I have no probs with my M2, but hey, if they can make it lighter, than rock on! I honestly would like to see Mission make a standard blade. Some other posts said they do, well if you go back to woodies and some old Mission stuff, than yeah they DID. But to my knowledge, Mission does not have a retail standard composite blade in the current lineup. Only L2's.

I think when whoever was describing the Hex-2 they said is was a tapered shaft/blade combo. I was just wondering if anyone has seen other samples or heard that this was coming out soon? Justin maybe? <_<

the HEX-2 is tapered with the HEX blade just like on the HEX-1. I havn't got any info on it from anyone in mission, but one of the guys at the rink here has one. I have tried it and it feels much better than the L-2. One of these days when i get around to taking a picture i will post one for everyone.
