Mic Mac?

Recommended Posts

I just received my custom blades from Legend Sports today.

I haven't been able to put them in a shaft yet as the tenon is not tapered enough - too thick - but they look to be fairly well constructed.

The blades have a white logo on the hosel that says "MicMac" in a slightly blurry silkscreen.

I had asked for all black blades with no logo on them and I receive a logo brand that I've never heard of before.

Has anyone ever heard of Mic Mac (hockey, sports, whatever...) before?

When I got my blades from legend they had legend on them. And I had the same issue with them being too thick (they are actually just a short hoseled standard blade), nothing a sander cant take of quite easily though.

It's got to be a new thing...the bulk of my original order came with the black dip and "Legend" on the blades...the last 2 came with MicMac on them instead. I can't tell if they're the exact same construction since the black dip blocks out the construction... but they feel the same.

I too had the thicker tenon issue with my custom tapereds, but a rasp worked wonders on them and they fit like a charm. And they're incredibly solid blades. I put one in an old broken synergy last month to use for stickhandling and shooting in my basement, and it's still going strong after tons of weighted pucks off of concrete...(my net's a bit rickety though).

Apparently, Mic Mac is the new name for Legend Sports' custom line so all of their custom sticks and blades will now come branded with that name.

They are retooling at Legend right now so that may explain the delays and difficulties that I've been having with my blades lately [took 2-3 weeks longer than promised, certain details incorrect (regular hosel instead of short, tenon too thick, glue on tenon - I asked for no glue in case filing was required)].

They've asked me to send the blades back for correction at no charge but it will be much easier (and cheaper - no shipping cost) for me to simply fix them myself so I can get on with using them.
