Need a senior Shanahan replacement blade

Recommended Posts

I thought this might be a good place to look for help. I use the Easton Shanahan curve pattern, but I'm having a hard time finding it inexpensively. It seems everone wants to charge me $45 for the blade, which is absurd. The last one I bought, I picked up for $12 at Inline Warehouse. Do you guys know a good place to buy replacement blades?

Are you looking for comp. blades? 45-12 dollars is a big gap.l I didn't think the shanahan was an endangered species, you can pretty much find easton blades anywhere online.

Woods go for about 15, hybrids close to 20, UL's for around 30-35, and I guess you've found the z carb.

Yes it is a big gap. Crazy, huh? I picked up an XABS version of the Easton Shanahan blade for $12 right after Christmas. The only Shanahan blade I can seem to find now is the Z-Carbon, and it's priced at most places at around $40-$45.

What is the Sher-Wood Shanahan Pattern like ?

I wasn't aware they have one. I just looked at the HockeyGiant blade pattern chart and there's no listing for a Sher-Wood Shanahan blade.

Is SW making aluminums for him now, or is he going to woodies?

Or are they just paying him to paint over his Eastons?

Yeah, I'm full of questions. Sorry.

P.S. Just to make sure, we are talking about Brendan, not some other Shanahan.

Why not throw something up in the Buy section? asking for Shanny blades, cheap is pretty vaige.

Shanny ABS

P10 Gagne

I don't think I was vague at all. I mentioned what I've paid before. Read the original post.

PS - Thanks for the links. The prices at HockeyMonkey are good. Unfortunately I'm boycotting them because they really screwed up a league order of mine and the league order guy was a massive jackass.

What about the Gear Carbon blades at hockeygiant for $14.99? The Gear Bozek curve is a Shanahan clone.

here

I noticed those in my travels. Does anyone have any experience with them?

The Shanahan X-Abs blade is not the same pattern as a Shanny Z-Carbon. Not even close. The Shanny Abs blade I had was a very small curve, more like a Modano. I'd assume yours is the same curve. So if you want the same curve, maybe look for a Modano.

Or maybe I'm just talking out of my ass here and your blade has the same curve as a Shanny Z-Carbon. I don't know for sure, maybe you could take a pic so we could tell you.

I've only ever used the wood and XABS version. I know those two are the same because I've compared them myself. I've never heard of the Z-Carbon one being different. I checked the HockeyGiant blade chart and it doesn't say anything about it.

Ah .. I see. Well, if anyone has had first hand experience with the Bozak blade from Gear, I'd love to hear about it.

The ones i used werent bad at all. The blade was really thin, great for roller hockey. They gaurentee that you will like the product in 30days, or they will refund you. Not a bad deal for $14.99

Yeah, they are practically giving the Gear stuff away over at Hockey Giant. I do have a question about the Bozak curve. Does it have a square toe like the Shanny?

i got a one peice gear stick, with that curve, i dont like the stick, but the curve is nice, i just wish the blade was thicker.

the curve itself is nice, for 14.99 it wont hurt to try it

Yea, the ABS and wood will be the same, but they are both different from the composite version from what I've seen.
