Quick Release Drills

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know any drills that increase the release time of your shot? Any help would be welcomed (I am looking for something to do on the driveway).

What are quick release passes?

Not sure if the drill is even known as that, but all I do is have a friend come over, and have quick, sharp, short passes. Usually pretty close, about 10 feet apart, and we just cradle and pass it all in one motion, we move back as we progress. Not sure if it is just this drill, or a combination of my routine, but my shot's velocity has improved, as well as the release time. I wouldn't only do this, and expect improvement over night, as another user said, strengthening your wrists will help.

stand close to a wall, have your stick and a tennis ball, keep one timing it against the wall. It'll help with one timers and quick release. Isn't bad for hand eye co-ordination either.

me? You catch and release without bringing it back. You may need to take your time at first but we get to the point where they're damn near slappers going back and forth.

I did that on the ice before practice with my buddy once with my 85 flex synergy, the stick bent so much i had to stop, i felt it torque. I can use 100 flex but i love a felxy stick
