Well, I ended up playing because when I called my friend/teammate to inform him I wasn't playing, he made me feel shame.

We lost 6-5, ending our undefeated streak, but I managed 2 goals and an assist, and probably could of had 2 more goals and 2 or 3 more assists. Their goaltender was stoning us all night <_< .

The left leg held up pretty well, but the right one is hurting pretty badly now. Damn, I feel like an old man.

NOW, I am not going to play for 4 days.....let the healing commence!

Thanks for all the opinions, fellas. Much obliged.

I would tend to agree. Sometimes when a muscle is hurting a lot, but not severely damaged, weight lifting thru the pain sometimes makes the pain go away. Do not know why, but it has happened to me a number of times. I had some sort of leg pain persisting all week, then after lifting it was gone! Do not know what the science is behind it.

With something like sciatica where it is basically a pinched nerve, movement can help to alleviate the pinch. For straight muscle pain, it depends on whether it is a pull or just muscle soreness. A pull will be made worse by exercising on it.

$10 says the right leg hurts now because you were compensating for the pain in the left leg.

Probably, huh?

When I would push off with my left leg, it would KILL. I couldn't really fully extend.

Ya know what though? I'm not going to be feeling much pain later tonight when I'm celebrating (read - drinking) the NHL and PA finally reaching a deal!! :D
