Best Blade?

Recommended Posts

the only risky thing about the pitch holders that had me worrying is when playing them on the setting where you are most on your toes. i skate in grafs, and love the forward pitch on them, as i love skating more so on my toes. when toying around with just the pitch holder (one off a skate), i examined it when it was placed on the highest setting (most on your toes), and there wasn't a lot of blade left in the holder while on this setting. it made me uneasy, because with such little blade left in the holder, it might possibly be more susceptible to breakage, twisting, and bending. my brother had the pitch holder on his first pair of S400's, and loved it, but he also left it on neutral. this is just my slight worry about the holders for me personally.

i've had no problems with my cobra holders, except for casual loosening of the screw that holds the blade in. but that was corrected with lock-tight that my father put on them. holder is strong, sturdy, and durable. changing blades is simple and easy, as i was in a tournament and could not get my skates sharpened, so i placed in my spare blades which were already sharpened, and had them in and ready to go in 10-20 mins. only downfall to the holder is it doesn't maintain it's edge for that long. the steel is softer than other companys holders.

I've seen even weak skaters torque their cobras to the point where they are 15-20 degrees off vertical.
