T-flex

Recommended Posts

Are the synthesis and all the other new tapered shafts better then the t-flex. If im correct the t-flex only weights 275g and the synthesis is 300g. Does anyone know how long the t-flex shaft is? I guess what im asking is are there any advatages to the new tapered shafts compared to the t-flex.

Thanks,

Chris

The T-flex is the same length as the standard hosel Easton shafts, somewhere around 50" or so. I'm 6-1 or so and the t-flex shafts, and most Easton shafts, were always on teh fringe of being too short for me with the satandard plug. If you're fairly short you could use a t-flex with teh short hosle blades without any problem.

The shaft itself is the same except for 3" shorter. The new ones are designed to go with the short hosel blades which gives a ops low kick feel. So performance wise, it gives lower kick, but I don't think there's any design improvements. Like ljack said, if you're short enough, you can use a t-flex with shart hoseled blades.

A synthesis shaft and blade is pretty much the same total length as a t-flex with a t-flex blade. I am 6' and I either use the t-flex/t-flex blade combo with the plug pulled out, or a t-flex/synthesis blade with the plug back in.

I suppose I do. But I guess the moral of the story is, if you prefer short hoselled blades and you typically need to cut standard easton shafts about 2 inches for your preferred height, than a t-flex shaft with a short hosel blade should be fine. With respect to technology, I dont think there are differences between the two shafts, I think they are both made of the kevlar and have the same length taper. But in combination with a short or long hosel blade there are differences in feel and kickpoint. I think if one prefers long hosel blades to short blades, the extra length of the synthesis is redundant and the t-flex shaft is a better deal because they are typically less than half the price.

yep, I'm 6' and I use the t-flex with t-flex blade. Need an even shorter blade cause I like short stick. I currently play with a cyclone with an inno mogilny blade in it and the inno mogilny blade has got a really short one. But yah, performance wise, I think it'd be the same.

In it's last year they made black ones that I think were SMU to Sport-Chek.

I thought the last Tflexs were green.

first red, then i remember roenick using a sky blue, then black, then green, somebody correct me if im wrong

Blue and then black (aluminum), then blackish/maroonish, then maroonish/reddish. then green and then the black SMU ones.

So the maroonish/reddish ones are the same as the green ones except for color and graphics. Will a shaft that was made in 1996 or 1997 have any negative effects due to its age?

I can't think of any differences other than colour between the old graphite ones and the green ones. Age shouldn't matter because I use shafts that are almost 10 years old and they're fine.
