my team mates and I just know where we are... well my line mates do at least... we've been playing together for about 8-9 years now... but yeah a lot of it WAS eye contact back in the day..

At higher levels there isn't enough time to make eye contact. I always have my eyes on my teamates tape rather than their actual body if there's time to make that play, as you pass to the tape and not their body. Its always head up, either looking directly through the pass or reading the play through peripheral vision. Any time a d-man makes eyecontact with his partner then throws it across the ice is putting a breakway on a silver platter for a quick forward looking to pick it off.

I actually thought that might be the case at higher levels than I play. I just play old-man pick-up and we have plenty of time to run around in circles and such. Someday, I tell ya, someday...Well, I can dream, can't I?
