hockeydude_49 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2005 I have "Spybot" and "Ad-Ware SE Personal" and I tried both of those and they didn't do anything. So now I just deleted it and I'm downloading a new version of MSN Messenger....Hope it works! EDIT: and if any of you guys get something on MSN that says "Hey, is this you?" and gives you a link DO NOT CLICK ON IT!
Squirrel 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2005 Happened to me a few times. If you have Norton just scan the whole computer and quarintine it and delete it. Hope it helps. (i don't think re-downloading it will fix it.)
hockeydude_49 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 I deleted it and downloaded it again and it works fine now.

#96 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 I got it on AIM. It looked suspicious, so I never clicked the link. Other people got it and were sending it to me. I was getting IM's from people I didn't even know! Obviously I was on their buddy list, and they got the virus. Then it was sent to me.Embarrassing I think. To have somone on your buddy list you don't even know or really talk to! I got paranoid and wound up deleting all the people I haven't talked to in awhile. I didn't want them getting infected IMs from me.
QandA 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 was it the "Hey, is this you" than a www.vbulletin.blablabla(insert your address here.)
#96 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 Yeah! That one sounds familiar. I remember it being something looking like a normal IM, like "Hey, I saw you here...(link)." So yeah, that was probably the one.
Fonya 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 Got this too. Just dl AVG Anti-Virus, Spybot and Adware and you'll be fine. I suggest AVG because it is the best software outthere and you can get it free at www.download.com and because Norton didnt pick it up.

Fonya 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2005 BTW, if nothing else works for your MSN virus, download Ewido, About:Buster, and CW Shredder and run them in that order in safe mode. That should do the trick. I did this after I keep getting pop-ups even though I removed the virus.
hockeydude_49 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 For the MSN Virus just delete it and re-download it and it should be fine. The new thing goin through all my friends MSN is this thing that changes your screen name to "http://www.msncheck.41m.com-free way to check who blocked and deleted you on msn"
