Dan Cloutier Practice Pads

Wow, my first post in the goalie forum. Be kind.

Question: What's up with these pads? Are they demos of the 11 inchers or something?

Dan was playing in for Klagenfurt AC in Austria while the NHL was on lock out. I'm guessing those are his european pads... Look like full 12" width pads. I'm sure if they were 11's they probably would have been branded RBK instead of Koho...

Here is a pic of Cloutier in Europe. Koho pads yes, which is different than what he wore with the Canucks as they were CCM Heatons. But take a look and no blue logos. Hmmmm.

I wonder if he got these at a European hockey team discount store? Just look at his Heaton pads and old WinnWell helmut and it's easy to conclude he likes the older stuff!

those koho pads look a lot bigger than his ccm's....i always thought his pads looked small compared to some other goaltenders, but looks like he jumped onto the big pad bandwagon....or was on the wagon the whole time?

I think,he has wanted to try out and use the Koho 590's for a while but hasnt been able to adjust to them so he stayed with his CCM Heaton 10 Pro's for the last season.I say that because if you look at the team picture before the last season he is wearing the Koho's,and after the lockout he started to use the Koho's again judging from pictures taken after the lockout.Now it looks like hes gonna stick with em.

PS. I think he has a much better butterfly with the 590's than his old CCM's by the look the that picture.

he does indeed, but i think anyone can have a good looking butterfly with those koho pads, big and square.....
