Holding out is a cowards way out, in most situations.

I have to disagree with that. In most cases the player knows he is going to be disliked by the fans and ripped apart in the media for taking that kind of stand. It takes some amount of conviction to knowingly get into a situation like that.

Is TO being greedy? I'll let you decide. I'm not sure about football but in the NHL the players get a check every 2 weeks during the season. If we equate that to say, 6 months for the NFL, TO gets a check that grosses $269,230.77 every 2 weeks. After taxes and other deductions, it's probably more along the lines of $135,000.00 every 2 weeks for 6 months. I don't know about you but after about the 3rd or 4th check, I honestly wouldn't know how to spend all that money and it probably would just start piling up in my checking or savings account.

Is he the best? Arguably. Moss, Hines Ward, Jerry Porter (it seems like almost every team has a marquee receiver) and several others put up similar or better numbers game in and game out and year in and year out. Therefore, of course the last person to sign the latest contract is going to be paid more. Hey, if TO didn't like it, he should have a signed a 2 year deal or had it in his contract that he could renegotiate after x number of years. He signed the contract, now honor it.
