Center Ice? HDTV?

I know alot of ppl are saying that the NHL is going to sign a deal with Comcast for 100 million for the next season... but how soon will they decide? Will bids go back and forth between ESPN and Comcast for a while?

Also I would love to buy the Center Ice package - but how likely is it that it will be in High Definition? Especially if Comcast wins the bid? I have a high-def tv just sitting here not being used so i really hope they show it in high def...

I currently do have Comcast for tv and internet - so at least i have that going for me. ;) ;)

The comcast stuff may be in HD, but I doubt that the Center Ice stuff will be. Most of the Center Ice I've watched was broadcast from regional or local channels. If they aren't broadcasting in HD, then Center Ice won't have an HD source to rebroadcast.

During the last season there was not a single HD broadcast available as part of the center ice package. OLN is not available in HD on my cable system, so none of thsoe games will be available in HD for me.

For those of you who don't have an HD TV you'd be surprised at the difference in quality. At first I sort of thought it was a gimmick, and you can really really tell the difference between HD and normal, it looks a lot better.

I did some promo stuff for JVC last winter where part of my "job" was to watch their new HD-ILA TV's..there was an HD channel that was rebroadcasting old games and it even got the attention of the football diehards..which in this area..says a lot...(a coach is taking his time to make the "ethically correct" decision on whether to suspend his Senior DB from the team after he pleaded guilty to 6 felony counts of armed robbery!!)
